WSC - The Saints are for real.

There are solid all over, and spectacular in key areas.

And they're looking at gaining homefield throughout the playoffs.

How they play their division will tell you everything about how real they are, and it's the only thing that's been overlooked in this thread.

They are an excellent team, and looking like a SB team so far...

but they are the only team as far as I can tell that hasn't played a divisional game yet, while some teams have already played their whole division and are now facing them a second time.

That's been an immesurable advantage for the Saints so far...and ONLY the Saints.

But that ends this weeked. We'll see how they handle the NFC South before we crown them.

But I think your futures are solid Big Pimpin, great value on the most solid team in football so far - no complaints with that.

One more thing - I love the D but didn't they just lose a key run stopper? I need to check the injury report because that could be a big problem vs. ATL

My point is that the Saints have no playoff experience, so congrats on the regular season and good job so far.

I would add a few teams to that list who could and probably will end up beating the Saints.

I think the Cards could beat the Saints and I think the Eagles could.

Thats just in the NFC..the AFC has several others as well.

How many playoff games has Brees played in?

The South is very weak this year..Atlanta isnt as good, Carolina so far is terrible, Tampa is in the running for top pick next year.

My biggest question mark for the Saints during the off season was defense, well you got a great DC and so far things are going well..but all the wins in the regular season mean nothing, the playoffs are why great teams play, but so far so good for the team.

Last season I would agre with you more than I do right now

If they have home field they are capable of beating anyone in the NFC.

Not saying they will, but they have the ability.

I agree with most of what you're saying but I do think their D is far better than the Saints have been in recent past.

But divisional games are always tough so we'll see how they handle that as step #1.

Cards with "zero" running game and average OL could not beat the Saints. On any given Sunday, anybody can beat anybody, yes I know that. Heck, just ask Green Bay about Tampa Bay today. But Saints would wreak havoc on 'Zonas defense and get after Warner.

And no, the Eagles could not beat the Saints this year. Please. At least not the Eagles that Im familiar with as of 11/08/2009.

So far the NO train has picked up good steam and is rolling, but of course you know, one bad play and they could be rolling of the track, Amtrak style. There are still a few good teams they've got to roll past first.

Good luck and keep it rolling past DAL ATS, at least.

Im only focused on Dallas right now, not one game past them.

New Orleans has "bullseye" on 'em, significant injuries, and are getting every teams best game. Beating an undefeated team in Dec is enough to make any teams season and NO is exhausting lots of effort staying unblemished but theyre also very focused on winning.

 

Im actually hoping they lose a game this year, ideally 1 of the next 2 and not last game of year. I think it would be good for them, in a strange way. But for all intents and purposes,a banged up NO is "much better" than Dallas.

 

As for playoffs and NFC Championship Game, lets not get ahead of ourselves just yet. I said it in August and I actually feel the same way in December,"only team that worries me is Minnesota." Philly, Arizona, G-Men etc dont worry me at all, for different reasons. And I mean "at all."

Like I said in August only 1 team in NFC can keep Saints out of SuperBowl, and thats Minnesota. GO DALLAS!!!!
