Even if Roethlisberger plays the entire year, they are the 3rd best team in that division. And yes, I have heard of Mike Wallace....he was the deep threat with Holmes and Ward getting all the attention. Now he will be going up against #2 CB's this year without Holmes, and will be catching balls from Leftwich or Dixon for a couple weeks.
Have to disagree with you on this one.. True at the start of the year Wallace was not getting alot of attention.. BUT by the middle of the year teams knew who he was and he got some of Hines coverage packages.. By the end of the year he was the threat not Hines..Something about this kid sparkles .. He got open all year long as a rook .. Dont care who was watching him he was being covered by a NFL player.. Ben missed him open deep for TD's at least a half a dozen times last year.. Dont think it was by chance that after he left college(MISS) his QB Snead went from pro to joe..By the way already took it deep to the house (Lefty threw it)in preseaon with limited snaps.. Also a 47 yarder from Ben..Kid is a NFL big time WR of the future IMO and he is all about the work.. No trouble..puts in extra time with Ward..All biz all the time.. watching him you can see he is special.. If he stays in the Burgh just may make people forget Hines..

Actually I think he will have more then one great year in the future.. Also think he will benefit in the future from the pair of gems at WR Pitt seems to have drafted this year as Antonio Brown and Emanuel Sanders have had big camps and NFLX games .. Both burners with good hands and football sense.. Brown to return punts and kicks and may just be a sweet sleeper down the road.. WR went from a question mark to a strength for Pitt.. It's just very rare to see people that actually put out predictions now. Everyone of course can pick the teams once the games are played, but that's why I do this during the preseason. Nothing like looking back in January and saying "what the fuck was I thinking?"

Of course I'm not gonna criticize you for picking the Steelers at 8-8. Anyone can do that now that they're 9-3. I just wanted to say that a lot people were thinking the same thing, for many of the same reasons that you listed. I laughed when I saw "experts" putting them at 18 and 19 in the preseason power rankings. Here's why...
The '08 Steelers won the Super Bowl, in part due to a brutal defense. That D was one of the best units the NFL has seen in several decades. In '09 they lost Polamalu and Aaron Smith to injuries. I had a feeling they would return to form in 2010. Sure enough, they were a huge reason why they started 3-1. I knew that Wallace could step in and replace Holmes. He's not AS good yet, but just like Holmes, he poses a huge threat that could score at any moment. I also thought getting McFadden back was huge, but now I'm not sure. I knew that getting Randel El would help, and I thought that getting Foote back was also huge.
Also, I know I'm a homer, but I think the Steelers will be a pretty good football team for a while. Looking at their nucleus and their youth, I don't see them having too many average or bad years in the near future. It actually appears that they are attempting to do the things they need to do to be called a dynasty

incredible after that injury. Brady has a full year under him after
the knee surgery that he had. Major question is the defense. They are
young and inexperienced. I see them splitting against the Jets and
Miami, and going 2-3 out of the following 5 games...Baltimore, Indy,
San Diego, Green Bay, Minnesota...possibly even better considering only
San Diego is on the road out of those games.
The 3 game difference came with the 5 games there that I said they would go 2-3...they went 5-0 in those games. People gave me shit for giving them 11-5?

has played, I just can't put them as Super Bowl contenders yet. They
beefed up more than any other team in the NFL during the offseason.

schedule as the Patriots, only with a brutal opening game against the
Ravens. This team could very easily be 0-2.
They did a little bit better than I expected record wise...but also got some lucky late wins against the Lions and Browns.
Miami Dolphins 7-9 (Actual: 7-9)
This
team just screams mediocrity. But the major reason I'm putting them at
this number is their road schedule. After the Week 1 trip to Buffalo
they have Minnesota, Green Bay, Cincy, Baltimore, Oakland, NY Jets, and
New England. 3-5 is more than likely the best case scenario there,
probably headed for a 2-6 mark on the road. Add in the first four home
games of NY Jets, New England, Pittsburgh, and Tennessee and the
Dolphins could realistically be looking at a 1-7 start.
Well...I guess I got the road part wrong on this one!! Other than that, I was dead nuts on the mediocrity part.

whipping boy of the division. Just lost too much. Great running game,
but stack the box and force them to throw and what do they do? The

up a true #1 guy finally with Boldin, and they have a favorable
schedule going up against the NFC South. Only team that can compete
with them is the Saints, and with the Ravens defense the Saints might
have a tough time. In my mind they are the favorites to make the Super
Bowl from the AFC. In order to be a great team, you have to be able to
run the ball and play defense, and the Ravens are top 5 in both.
Pretty damn good on the Ravens as well!! After their dismantling of the Chiefs yesterday, I would still put them right with the Pats in the AFC

does I just think they have taken more steps backwards than forwards.

continue to save these guys, and Limas Sweed isn't stepping up to fill
anyone's shoes.
This prediction was dead in the water after they did amazingly well to start the season. Big Ben finds ways to win games...and that defense is stacked as always.

team. When your big solution to your quarterback issues is to bring in
Jake Delhomme, you are in trouble. Sorry Cleveland fans, another year
of sadness. Luckily they have a cupcake start to the season with Tampa

win.

now, and they're defense lacks the run stopping ability. Solid

am not convinced on Ryan Matthews yet. He should be a solid player,
but when you go all-in with a rookie running back, you live and die
with him. Phillip Rivers is good enough to make Malcolm Floyd and
Legadu Naanee look like solid receivers, but one injury could
absolutely murder this team. Luckily they still get two games against
the Broncos, Raiders, and Chiefs...and even their other games are the
cupcakiest cupcake pansy ass teams possible. Chiefs, Jags, Seahawks,
Cardinals, Raiders, Rams? There's 6-0 right there, 5-1 at worst.

Kyle Orton will have a much harder time finding open guys. Without
Elvis Dumervil ripping off the edge, the defense won't be as
protected. Giving them a .500 record because I see Moreno being the
real deal and a good running game will keep them in games. Plus Denver
will not be a fun place to play for Houston and San Diego in the last
two weeks of the season.
Denver was a mess in all possible ways this year. They did have a nice finish to the year.
Kansas City Chiefs 7-9 (Actual: 10-6)
A
full season with the offense for Matt Cassell, Jamaal Charles, and
Dwayne Bowe should mean better scoring. A relatively easy road
schedule should also keep them alive for a while. One of the most
improved teams in the off season, but still a step away from making a
serious run. Jamaal Charles will be one of the top 5 RB's in the game.
Surprise team of the year. I was right about Charles at least!
Oakland Raiders 5-11 (Actual: 8-8)

Campbell is an improvement. That's all you really need to know about
this team. Running back position is weak. Wide receivers are weak.
At least in Washington, Campbell had Portis, Moss, Cooley, and a good
offensive line. None of that will follow him into Oakland. Tough road
schedule for the Raiders as well, they may need to wait until the final
week to get a win away from home.
They came out of nowhere in the middle of the year and surprised a lot of people...but it just wasn't enough

San Diego Chargers 11-5 (Actual: 9-7)
I
am not convinced on Ryan Matthews yet. He should be a solid player,
but when you go all-in with a rookie running back, you live and die
with him. Phillip Rivers is good enough to make Malcolm Floyd and
Legadu Naanee look like solid receivers, but one injury could
absolutely murder this team. Luckily they still get two games against
the Broncos, Raiders, and Chiefs...and even their other games are the
cupcakiest cupcake pansy ass teams possible. Chiefs, Jags, Seahawks,
Cardinals, Raiders, Rams? There's 6-0 right there, 5-1 at worst.
