refs are part of the game, consider it home court advantage for a reason, no, it's not right, but this is how the NBA has been for awhile now, i'm sure you're well aware of that, i have a feeling your just acting on emotions and hurt feelings, laker supporters talk shit because they always have to deal with shit talk from the majority of laker haters... to participate in either side makes you just the same as them.

overall, you know it's just a story book watching the NBA, each chapter holds something different,

JW i wouldn't bother... NBA fans and sports fans in general have short term memories... they remember the last game, and that's about it... next game, nobody is going to think Boston has a chance...

and yet those of us with eyes saw the Celtics play like total shit, with Pierce and Allen and the other Allen all in foul trouble the whole game... and the Lakers hitting on all cylinders... and yet it was a 13 point game and Boston was in it with 3 or 4 minutes to go...

i wouldn't start hoisting the banner yet...

?!?!? This was an evenly called game in my eyes. Even the #s back that up. The Cs shot more foul shots. I think it was Lakers were too big AGAIN but I think the Cs can counter if Garnett shows up next game.
As for the comment Allen got taken out, cmon, anyone guarding Kobe is going to get all kinds of fouls called on them, the game seemed fair but Kobe is always going to draw fouls that was stupid to put an essential player on him. Rotate the job. I don't see why they didn't zone it up like the Suns did. Hope the Cs can get their stuff together before game 2.

yep... if the NBA ultimately wants a 6 or 7 game series, the last thing they wanted to see was a Boston win tonight...

did you check out the game?  Ray Allen and Tony Allen DID split duty on him in the 1st quarter... and with about 2 minutes to go in the 1st quarter, they had a combined 5 fouls called on them...

it's one thing to look at the numbers... it's another thing to look at the right numbers...

Ray Allen (a future Hall of Famer and supposedly a guy who has earned the respect of the refs), picked up his 5th foul mid-3rd quarter on what was outstanding defense against Kobe... it was a bullshit call...

and they don't put that in the box score...

Its going to be priceless in game 2 when they don't blow the whistles hardly at all, and it favors the Celtics beating up on Gasol little bitch ass like the game started out and they take it to them.

I will be playing the ML and Spread large next game, and God Forbid what I will lay down in Game 3 like I did with the Suns last series first game at home.

Exactly. Thanks Ice. You further proved my point on the zone; that's how it goes against Kobe. Guarding him results in fouls for anyone. Same happened to Hill last series in first games 'til the Suns went to the zone. That's why I said the Cs need to zone it up. Let Kobe shoot from the outside. The man d was a bad idea. I doubt the Cs will because they're too proud but I think it wouldn't hurt. 

I don't think the whistles will change too much in game two. I really think the Celtic bigs need to step up (Garnett and Perkins). They weren't if foul trouble they just didn't play.

mightiestmojo... i don't disagree that Boston should at some point throw some zone at LA... i would be surprised if we don't see it...

however, the 5 calls against those guys in the 1st quarter were crap calls... again, not sure if you watched it, but Crawford was like roid-ref out there... those guys were playing very good defense... no reason they should have been getting all of those calls on them...

it will be a different story for the next couple games at least...

Hmmm that's weird. Cause I could of sworn Kobe, Artest, and Fisher all had  a coulle fouls themselves halfway through that 1st Qtr. don't act like they were ganging up on the poor old celtics. Kobe sat out almost half the 1st qtr. , not to mention Odom getting 3 quick ones in the 1st qtr. and being done for the half. The celtics simply got outplayed and manhandled, end of story

Awwww the refs ganged up on the pooor wittle Celtics. Booo Hooo. The lakers got more fouls in their favor and the Celtics got more free throws. seemed pretty even to me.

I completely agree Jwheels. I'm on the Lakers to win the series and I was on the -5.5 tonight, but the game itself said a lot about the series going forward. Kobe had his way, Gasol and Bynum had their way, Perkins, Garnett, Allen, Rondo, and Pierce were all nonfactors (I'm not exaggerating, if you watched this game you would agree that not a single one of Boston's starters was in any sort of rhythm tonight), AND the refs called a tight game which favored the Lakers. LA only won by 13, should've been 10 had Kobe not made that worthless 3.

What I think this means in terms of the gambling aspect is that everybody will be on Boston one game too early in Game 2 expecting a better performance, and LA will pull off another cover. LA did play very well, but keep in mind Kobe played a B+ game. What if that A+ 40 point game comes on Sunday night?

I think this series will will become more understandable after it goes back to Boston, refs may call a looser game/if Boston's down 2-0 I would pound Boston against the spread almost no matter what (no way it'd be higher than Boston -3.5 anyway).
