I have a very good memory of last season Mr. Hater.  I see a different team this year.  Howard has completely come around.  Lewis is the borderline true allstar they never had there.  He will make all the other semi-good players on that team better.  The coaching is definitely better as well.  If you think Im average then Ill be average as long as you honestly agree to be ignorant.

No, I dont think he will.  Dwight Howard has not shown me any indication that he has the ability to make players around him better.  Because a guy can put up numbers does not mean he will make his teammates better.

Rashard Lewis is making $118 million.  Gerald Wallace is making $57.  Can you honestly say he is even better than Wallace?  Kevin Martin?

I know you're a fan and respect your opinion but if you want to discuss the Tragic, you can make a thread about them and I'll gladly participate.  This thread is all about Durant/Seattle.

Lewis was over-paid when he signed his deal....that's a fact.  Just like T. Hunter got over-paid.  NOW, he has certainly had a nice start and he may end up being better then most thought....but at the time they signed him, it was too much money.  No one else was willing to go the max.  If Orlando thought they knew something that everyone else did not, good for them.  But they were largely bidding against themselves IMO. 
 
And D. Howard may still be raw offensively, but he's shooting over 60% and averaging 23.5.

BTW, King James shot 41% and averaged about 20 a game in his rookie year.  Pretty much right where Durant is.    James will have more assists overall, but it's still quite close in most categories.....and Durant's numbers are likely to improve over the season.
 
Seattle sucks and they are on the west coast.  Not a recipe for a bunch of fan-fare and media attention.

I said Lewis is making the players on the team better IMO if you could read it correctly.  I agree he is overpaid.  Many athletes are, but bottom line is right now, they are intact and I think they can challenge for the East.  I think he is significantly better then Martin.  All Martin does is score and thats because his team has been so bad up til the return of Artest and no one seems to play D on him.  Even in Sacramentos big win vs. MY SPURS(im a tiny Magic fan) he only had 10 points due to some good defense.  He is a better player then Wallace IMO, but for that difference in money I would take Gerald.  He has the upside as well.  It just looks as if Lewis was a nice fit for this team.  He was the only major change and all 4 other starters are playing much better ball this season.  When the Magic are 24-21 or so at the break, Ill do my best to come back and say fuck them I was wrong.  Im guessing they will have at least 30 wins at the break which is usually around the 45 game mark.

No need to highlight the stats.  I already knew them long before making this post.

Seattle being on the west coast... Yeah, you do know that Seattle, WA is one of the nations largest media markets right?

How many of Durant's games have been and will be brodcast on ESPN and TNT so far right?  He's been seen.

LeBron James turned around an entire franchise his rookie season coming out of highschool.  If Durant leads his team to even 20 wins, I'll be impressed.

No one ever said Durant was LBJ....at least no one I saw on here.  Many said Durant would be a star in the NBA.  You don't think so?  All Star?

Looking at that squad? I'd have to say, no.  How many of them are still around now?  And it was about James' impact as a rookie not overall talent.

But you're in Minnesota so you'll be fighting with the Sonics for the "worst team in the NBA" heavyweight title.  I'll have to say it will be a major disappointment if Minnesota loses more than Seattle, although you guys have an inept coach, an even dumber GM, no PG play, and a bunch of dead weight.

the magic might of been 13-4 but they had NO BODY....HOWARD of last yr does not compare to howard of this year...sounds like you got this WHOLE GM thing on lock....when does your next job start?  so if the magic pass on LEWIS, who signs him?  and how do they not sign him MAX dollars?  HOUST tried to sign him, SEA tried to sign him, and i know there were others...just like you said...Again... I love it how people love to make assumptions about a team based on the first month of the season......insert foot in mouth....hustle-women

also did you forget that the NY knicks were also after LEWIS, so we all know they would of thrown the MAX at him...MAGIC might of OVERPAID, but who isnt OVERPAID in the NBA...the MAGIC paid the going rate b/c someone else would have paid the same thing....cal him overpaid, then you mize well say TMAC is overpaid...what has he done?  1st round??????

This might mean something if I cared that much.  I was begging for MN to trade Garnett for about 3 years now.  Calling the T-Wolves an inept franchise is akin to calling the Pope Catholic.  Thanks for pointing it out though.

also SVG is not BRIAN HILL....that is a HUGE upgrade....HUSTLE_MAN...you sound like a gambler...if your so confident of the MAGIC crumbling, then put your $$$$ where your mouth is...MAGIC will be in top 4 in the EAST come seasons end...they pretty much already got there division won...LMAO

Minnesota could have still be a decent team if they ever surrounded Garnett with players to compliment his game.  Trading him 3 years ago would have just made Minnesota the worst team in the league 3 years early.  The main problem is McHale not knowing what he is doing in the front office.

On court (which seems to be a foreign concept to you) impact and talent are two different things.  Keep watching the season with Durant and you'll see the difference.

Lol @ better body than most NBA vets.  Just when I give you credit for not listening to ESPN, you repeat the same jargon they used to spit out.

If you remember, LeBron started his season at PG (playing out of position like Durant) but he was surrounded by hype (like Durant), had a new coach brought in specifically for him (like Durant), had the team overhauled prior to his debut (like Durant).  Do you see the trend here? Or do I need to make it even more elementary?

To be fair, that '03/'04 Cavs team was a much better squad surrounding Lebron than the '07/'08 Sonics team surrounding Durant.

Ilgauskus was healthy and coming off an All-Star season, Boozer was coming into his own and Jeff McInnis still had a little bit left in the tank.  Not a good team by any means, but better and much more experienced than what Durant is dealing with.

No, my friend, no one was looking to offer Rashard Lewis a max contract except Orlando.  Seattle wasn't going to give him any deal, everyone knew Seattle wasn't interested in re-signing.  Very few teams had the cap room to sign him to the maximum.

also did you forget that the NY knicks were also after LEWIS, so we all know they would of thrown the MAX at him...

Come on, think before you type, how the hell would the Knicks throw the max at him?  Have you looked at the Knicks salary situation?  The Knicks weren't throwing anything at him in terms of free agent salary, the Knicks were interested in a sign-and-trade.  You do not sign players to a max and then trade them.

Still, teams continued wooing him, even into Wednesday. Lewis said the Houston Rockets sent a personalized jersey to his door, but he never wavered on his desire to form a solid 1-2 punch with Howard in Orlando.

point is, if the MAGIC didnt sign him....someone was gonna sign him period....what are they going to do cut his pay?  he is 27 and at his prime.  he was set to make 11 million this year anyway, so whoever signed him was gonna give him a RAISE, MAGIC had the most cash and happened to be the team he wanted to play for.  He'll play more games than grant hill ever played for the magic, if you wanna talk about over spending...so as a MAGIC FAN i am happy...
