We are in this crazy dynamic cosmic universe, the meaning for us is what you enjoy, and most experienced people will tell you, that comes down to the small stuff. Seeing someone you love smile, ice cold water when you are dying of thirst, ice cream on a hot day by the beach, a nice rib eye medium rare with a glass of wine or scotch after a successful run at work, etc.....it's the small moments that are true happiness, and that collectively is the "meaning" of life. Concentrate just in that pal, enjoy the ride, and be a good person, the more positive you give this world the more positive you get, it's a fundamental law of the universe...
This is on the money my friend... it's all about defining what your life wants to be. To the OP - as gamblers we love rooting for this over or that underdog... it gives us a feeling like we are alive. lets us try to prove our smartness. and the collective bad beats, trap lines etc all makes us live for this man

This is all just a means to an end. Meaning this is how life is... Some gamble, some do drugs, some steal some work hard. No matter what it is, we're all fucked in the end. It's not when we win, it's when we lose that makes us feel alive! So why not try to enjoy it while it lasts.

That's the thing that I think draws me to gambling. You really feel something, win or lose. I just feel funny rooting for these stupid games night in and night out when we're all on the way out anyway. I think that maybe if it passes the time and just makes me feel something and I can have a few beers with my buddies and come on here and commisserate about bad beats or great wins, then maybe it really is meaningful in some way. Who knows.

It's a rush when you hit the "submit" button and when you win it's a euphoric feeling. So long as you stay disiciplined and play within your means it's a great past time. You'll eventually out grow it too, I'm sure. For now all I'm saying is enjoy it. If its too stressful get away from it. Life is too short so cut out any undue stress.

the point of the whole movie is to endure the full spectrum of human experience feeling and emotion and to use the opportunity to better understand the entire creation (and thus your place in creation)...that spectrum includes joy sorry victory defeat pain loss love the list goes on...sports in many ways is a microcosm for all of that, sports betting too if you can use it without being consumed by it, if you are it is just another trap, they are set all over the place...most of what goes on is a small version of the whole the more you start paying attention the more you notice it...losing is as valuable as winning in the scheme of the purpose of life, as loss is as valuable as love (although from a narrow human perspective a heck of a lot less enjoyable)

as far as meaning is concerned, this is a strange way that we look at things from a human perspective...more than life having "meaning" it is an opportunity, an opportunity for evolution of consciousness (death is an opportunity too, and the more you prepare during life the more you will make of it)...you can use this opportunity or not based on your choices...

if you think about it the preciousness of it all is in the fact that it is only temporary...if your cheeseburger went on forever it wouldn't be an enjoyable experience...yet when its gone we wish there was just one more bight...every bight is precious! and eventually there will just be an empty plate!

We argue about picks and who is right, who is wrong. We root for teams that we can care less about outside of sports. We put so much time into shiit that seems to mean so much to us yet on the outside we are taking time from our wife, gf, family, kids etc. Who needs us to be there. We argue with the wifey about what Chanel to watch.. For what? Yea, if we win theyre happy we give them money but what happens when we lose??!! It takes precious time away from our lives.. Time that to others actually means something. Think about it...

there is no doubt that sports are a trap set deliberately by people (if you can call them that) that have a vested interest in stalling the evolution of consciousness through this dimension to gain further power and control...if that is the effect it has had on you you ought to walk away...however ultimately if the mouse can resist the cheese the traps just sit there in the corner of the room and don't do anything to the life of the mouse...thats just it can you watch this and not get swallowed up into forgetting the bigger picture? or is your consciousness at the whim of those trying to grab a hold of it? its worth being honest about it, i walked away from sports and didn't come back until i was in the driver's seat of my own heart and mind...i don't mean to sound brutal but their are forces at play that want each of us to get the least out of this opportunity for what they believe to be their own benefit (despite the fact that even this is a misunderstanding at best)
