I disagree that it is chance.  Everygame has its own story.  miami has been playing bad lately and hawks have been playing great...hawks +the points would have been a logical and great play tonite.

Pleeeeease.give us a break.....what about Durant and then Mavs game when he handed the ball to Carlisle and Deshawn hits a 3 with 2 secs left.....

What did it for me is when everyone here was congratulating that sharpstick guy on that pick like he capped?

Then people started laying into him when he lost the next 5 in a row or whatever....i mean, are people on here really tb\hat stupid?

He's right, even for sides, you can't do anything if Lebron chose to play well or not by playing "heads or tails" before each quarter.

In the short term, outcomes are determined much by luck.
but this is long term investment.
what you need to do is have the edges on each game.

But the thing is...for every lucky win, you have an unlucky loss as you pointed out in the first post.

Out of my 300+ plays so far this year...maybe 10-20 of them were "lucky" wins.  If you pick every single game on the board every single night...then yes there is absolutely no way to cap that.

That's why I have my trends and patterns and I stick to those 100%.  Like tonight...there were no trends that said Heat 1st Quarter, but I took it on a hunch, and they got blown away.  It was my only loss.  The others were taking an UNDER in a game where there were players returning from injury and also a back to back situation...and the Bobcats 1st Quarter because the line was in their favor.

Yes there is luck...and yes there is skill.

The trouble is getting from lucky to skilled.

I have seen games where a player dunks that ball.up 4 with 1 sec left and no one in front of him...

Other games like yesterday, he doesnt dunk it......

One day the suns are down by 4 with 15 secs left and they dont foul....the next day a team is down by 7 with 10 secs left and they foul........

    RANDOMNESS......

Basketball?  Nah man mooses come and go.  The most 50/50 sport to cap is baseball hands down.  You can have a go by pitching matchups and all but any baseball team can win any given night.  It happens every night.

Yeah man I feel your pain on that suns shit..I honestly didnt see it..so I cant even comment...this game of basketball can be pretty fucked at times...there is so many possessions.  All i can say is if you bet the same amount everygame...and you dont risk more on one game than you make in a days work...than you should come out on top...because not everygame ends in a bad break..

    Exactly!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These people that bitch about a slow pace at the end of games, or missed FT's in the fourth quarter, have obviously never played basketball in real competition. They act as if these professional athletes are robots. Players are not involved in any fixing of games. They make way too much money. They may not give a shit on any given night, but it has nothing to do w/ your bets. Even the best players and teams just have off nights and give up, its a long season to them as well.

The refs, however, do have the ability to control the flow of the game, which is a very valuable tool. While I dont believe they're trying to profit personally, they do have hints (instructions) from the league to keep certain games close and aid the stats of "star" players that will help out the league in general. It is a business, but aiding Vegas isn't part of their business. Vegas just has more info about what the league wants than the average joe.Vegas isn't even just Vegas anymore w/ all the off shore action. So when you see a line a little off, try to use this info to figure out why. Then be on the right side of the "influence," not the fix. Sometimes even w/ all the "influence" guys just make or miss shots. If you can handle it don't bet it. If you do bet it, don't watch it. Whatever you do, just don't bitch about it!

If you can't handle it, don'tbet on it.

and Rostos, you spend an awful lot of time and energy on this site for someone that doesn't bet. Why don't you just admit that you lose so much, you are no longer willing to post your picks. So you can just call BS constantly w/o people blowing you off because you just lost a wager.

You go into threads and give advice, why? If you aren't betting, why tell someone else how to spend their money. Sorry for the "attack",but its been bugging me for awhile.

Rostos is a liar, plain and simple.  Nobody spends this much time and energy posting thread after thread and doesn't gamble.  He makes bad plays and loses, instead of taking responsibility for his plays it's much easier to blame it all on luck.  Why would he admit he's a bad gambler, still haven't heard him say that.  Lost tons like he said but it's  never his fault.

Is his the same guy who said there is NO luck in gambling yet a few days later came into one of my baseball threads and said "you will need luck if this game goes over"?"

Contradiction is th 1st sign of insanity.......
