In other words, the synergies that Phil Jackson + talent creates is what wins championships. Without one, the other never maximizes its potential. And yeah Phil needs talent, but every coach in the NBA needs talent to succeed. 11 championships are not won entirely due to having the most talent.

It takes both great players and a good coach, MJ & Kobe never won a title without him. Shaq won 1 without him with Pat Riley as the coach.

Explain how a team goes from 47 to 72 wins the next year with the same roster besides 1 player.

umm team chemistry migh thave something to do with it... im sure MJ had a lot to do with the turn around but u r foolish to say that phil has nothing to do with the success of these teams... he is a great basketball mind greatest coach in the NBA.... EVER.... PERIOD

How come people earlier in the year was calling Eric Spoelstra a bad coach when they were losing, but now he's a good coach cause they are winning. It's the same team, he isn't coaching any different now as he was back then.

Just for the record, the Lakers are shooting 33% right now, do you think that Phil Jackson has anything to do with that. The answer is NO. But it works the other too, when they shoot 55% and win, he has NOTHING to do with that either.

He lost when Mj left and won again when he came back yeah he is a great coach. And in La he had one of the best centers of all time plus the second best shooting guard. Now pops is a good coach.

O.K. kid- I was ON THE FLOOR when Jordan won for NC, and have had season tickets to Bull's games from 87-96... My Uncle's have been on staff at MJ's basketball camp in Chicago, and even before when it was Doug Collin's camp... grow up.

Phil Jackson must have been coaching the camps then. Man you are a legend in my mind now. Being at camps. Having season tickets. Being on the floor at NC. WOW! Got news for you Phil Jackson lovers. Do you realize that Phil had NOTHING to do with them losing today, do you realize that. But it works both ways, he also has NOTHING to do with them winning either. Coaching in the NBA is about the team you have, just ask Spoelstra down in Miami.

3- If it's so easy to coach the Lakers, why was Riley canned?


  If you think the Lakers would have won 5 Championships without Phil, you are sadly mistaken. Kobe would have drove that Franchise to the ground as he almost did. If he could have just played his role, his time would have come and he would have had at least 1-2 more rings. But he does not understand NO, ask the girl he raped ....
