I had to watch Melo for 8 years or so. Let me tell you about Melo.
In one night I have already seen a Galinaro kid run back after a turnover harder than I did in 8 years of Melo. I have seen help defense. I have seen the ball move around the defense and not sit on a string in front of a megastar.
Melo will not win. He does not understand the game. He is clueless. On the playground, the outscore you mentality will win but in organized ball, it has no chance. He does not play D, he does not know how to play D, he will never play D, for this reason, he is useless.
The Greats, Kobe, Jordan, played great D, that is the key to winning. Melo has never and will never do it.
He can score, in fact, he is one of the greatest scorers I have ever seen, that said, in the big games, he often came up short. The Nuggets have improved dramatically with this trade. The Knicks will once again be left with egg on their face.
Thank you NY from the bottom of my heart.

Spot on.
To me, there are 2 glaring examples that define melo as a leader:
1) the way melo quit, and turned into a sulking, pouty baby sitting on the bench against the lakers in game 5 and 6 against the lakers in the 2009 western confernce finals. His shot was not dropping and the guy fuckin quit to the point that Karl would/could not play him in the 2 biggest games of melos career
2) 2010 playoffs, utah vs denver, round 1. Melo singlehandedly lost game 2 at home by himself by commiting 3 offensive fouls in the second half, amongst a few other bonehead plays. The nuggets lost home court advantage, and went on to predicatably lose the next 2 on the road against a very good utah home team. After game 4, melo, with this bloated statline, openly critisized his teammates for not stepping up. In a "home" dominated series, it was his blunders that ultimately cost the nuggets the series by losing game 2 at home.
------------------
For last night, keep in mind, it was only 1 game, the cavs played awesome and hit some big shots.... like with any trade or key aquisition, it does take a few games and practices for offensive chemistry to develop.
jamison exposed and abused melo 1 on 1 in the 4 th q. there were 4 straight possesions where jamison drew a foul or took the ball down low and scored. That is on the coach for not making an adjustment asap, and that is the kind of coaching mistake that comes from having a new player on the floor who you are still learning his strengths and weaknesses.
Billups almost brought the knicks back by himself, but the knicks could just not get a key stop on the defensive end in the last 2 minutes.
both amare and melo are bad 1 on 1 defenders. Can D'antoni find a defensive help scheme to prevent both of them being exposed 1 on 1?
IMO, knicks will not be a serious threat until they have a mutumbo style center to stand in the lane, grab defensive rebounds, provide help defense and contest shot attempts in the lane.
knicks fans, expect to have several frustrating playoff runs, before melo eventually turns on your team, and management, blaming teammates for not stepping up and management for not putting together a winning team

gallinari last night was exposed in the fourth as he missed a key ft and then all but disappeared in OT.
He may not have the kind of confidence that he needs for superstardom, but he does have the ability, no question about that.
JR Smith also has the ability but may not have the IQ if you see where I am going

bump again?
Get used to losing against teams like the Pacers at home, it used to happen here all the time.
Melo out with his boys to late?
Since he left it seems the Nuggs cannot win a game w/o their superstar?
What makes a superstar? Was the iceman? World B Free?
Boy do I miss Melo.![]()

oh man,
How will Denver survive without Melo?
This trade is looking better and better every Felton, Chandler and soon to be back Gallinari bucket that is scored.

And Melo in NY, reminiscent of Melo in Denver. Wait, soon he will need new teammates.

.... I love how melo is getting his stat line and how its always the teammates fault for not stepping up! Melo, you got what you wanted, now step up your defensive game and get some key stops for your team when they need it... get that sulky, pouty, bitch look off your face, shown some enthusiam and leadership.... .....thats what max contract guys are paid to do....
i said it before and will say it again.... melo is closer to vince carter, stephon marbury and steve francais then he is to lebron, kobe, wade.... anyone who looks at his stat line and says otherwise doesn't know basketball....
