100% agree. I cannot believe I saw this posting because I was telling my friend the same thing on thephone this morning.
Griffin does a 360 dunk and an ollie oop to himself dunk off of the backboard, which were unoriginal and any nba can do.
That gets him to the finals and all of a sudden there is a staged advertisement. Unreal.
I don't think the nba rigs all of its games or anything, but this contest was definitely rigged.
I'm in agreement with those who say NBA games are not fixed, but there is definitely some sort of scripting going on when it comes to some high profile events. Blake Griffin had this thing gift wrapped, all he had to do was not fuck it up. Once I saw DeRozen's first dunk get a 44, I knew something is up. Off the side of the backboard and then through the legs, and you only get a 44??? When Ibaka took off from the FT line, the most legit take off from the FT line dunk ever seen in an NBA dunk contest and only gets a 45??? That almost guaranteed the first 2 guys were not moving on next round. If you don't think there is any scripting? Then it would be hard to explain, getting a choir in the next round. And to top the whole enchilada off, an mediocore dunk over the sponsor car. NBA where the WWE happens.
Anyone else think the prop dunks are as dumb as I do? Sure, dunking over a car and dunking on two hoops at once are cool...but do they really prove you are a good dunker? I mean last I checked neither of those ever happen in a game so who cares...
I liked the Nate Robinson dunking over Spike Lee because that can actually happen in a game, but bringing in a car..give me a break, they might as well do away with the whole competition if these players are going to be so uncreative. Just my opinion of course, bring in the Globe trotters to teach them some creativity!!!
and Kenny Smith, what a POS!!! speaking of uncreative, how many consecutive years can that ahole say the same damn lines during the dunk contest...just comes of as dumb and terrible terrible broadcasting, how does tnt not tell him to shut the hell up by now, disgraceful, is there really anyone out there that likes that guy? if you do, i hate you lol. ok i'm done ranting.
