You expect a team to never trade there players so the chemistry won't be "killed"?
When it's from a Championship Team, it makes a lot of sense , doesn't it ?
Look it, this is Kobe's team, and adding another Alpha Male to the litter does not bode well. This will be great entertainment IMO, but has trouble written all over it.

Its unfortunate people still think of him as a headcase. But I guess thats his own fault.
Artest is a damn good basketball player. One of my favorites to watch. Phil Jackson will utilize his type of skills to the fullest. He can guard practically any position on the court. Now they have two all-nba defensive guys? If Bynum is fully healthy, their defense will be tough.
Now they need to sign one more guy. Forget about Odom. I'd go with a guy like Powe. A physical guy off the bench is what they need. But I have a feeling Odom signs a one year deal for cheap, especially with the signing of Artest.

This deal sucks for everyone involved except for a piece of shit thug named Artest.
LA just took a big step backwards
You obviously have a very bad memory of history of the NBA.
This situation with Artest joining the Lakers is eerily similar to when the Bulls aquired Rodman in the late 90's. A crazy, physical, elite defensive stopper and rebounder added to an already great team with two superstars. Everybody questioned the "chemistry". Everybody said it was a bad move considering Rodman's history.
The Bulls only went out and won 72 games that year, and easily rolled to the title.
History has a funny way of repeating itself, and Lake show wins at least 70 and I'll repeat, 70 in 2009-10.

Right. They said the exact same thing when the Bulls picked up Rodman.
72-10 was the result.

@ people who still think Artest is an elite defender. He's not the shut down guy he was with the Pacers. I'm sure people will realize this now that he's in a bigger market.
Ariza is a better defender than him.
And Phil didn't put the clamps on Rodman. That was all Jordan.

Rodman never went into the stands after fans, nor did he chase players on court trying to intimidate them, nor did he talk about killing people in the old days. When you look in the encyclopedia under asshole you will see a picture of this guy.
Now he's talking how great it will be to play in LA, and he would do it for free. I can't stand the fuckin prick
The Lakers would not have won the crown this year without ARIZA period. And I will definitely be looking elsewhere next year for a future bet to the Championship, LA has just lost one key element in their success.

Remember this nonsense you're blabbering when the Lake show wins a back to back next year.
The Lakers woulda won that title without Ariza. The dude makes a few plays in the playoffs, and you and others are acting like he's a key cog in the machine. He's a complimentary player only, and you and others barely knew him up till playoff time. He meant so much to the team and was so valuable, the Lakers called his bluff, and had a replacement upgrade before Ariza even put his shoes on to walk out of the door. And you notice not one Laker has spoken on his behalf since his departure. Because they know they got the better deal. Ariza might not even start in Houston over Shane Battier.
Again. The Lake show wins at least 70 this upcoming season, and you'll be right back on the wagon in no time.

Majority of players in the league still consider him an elite defender, so what you think of him really holds no water.
And you're right. Jordan kept Rodman in check.
Just like Kobe will keep Artest in check. The simalarities in the two situations are eerie almost.

Lakers win the title without Ariza? Yes, because I'm sure L.Walton and his shut down defense and pinpoint 3 point skills would've offset what Ariza did.
And Ariza not starting. seeing as how's he's replacing Artest and Artest was a starter, I'm pretty sure he will.
It's obvious you're clusless about them NBA and another bandwagon Laker fan so I shouldn't be surprised.

you Laker haters are hopeless. Artest was brought in despite the heated exchange between him and Kobe in the 2nd round of the Western playoffs because the Lakers knew they had to have a reliable defender and someone strong and crazy enough to take on the Nuggets.
Kobe himself said after the series with the Nuggets (which could've very well slipped from their grasp if not for a few timely plays by Ariza): "This Nuggets team is going to be a problem for us in the future." He knew how tough the Thuggets could be if energized. What better way to neutralize those drives to the basket than getting another frontline defender? Kmart/Dahntay/JR Smith won't want to tick off Artest, I tell you.
I don't know how in f--king tarnation you could consider that a step backwards. You keep referring to Artest as a headcase, a problematic, uncoachable player. What you obviously overlooked was that he wants to win a championship very badly, and is not as wacky as Rodman. True, DRod never did go into the stands, but his work ethic was questioned by Jordan himself. Never heard anything of the sort about Ron's work habits.
2nd Lakers championship...coming up!!

And your avatar looks like Rodman made you his bitch!!!

It's "Richard Jefferson." And don't try to squirm your way out of it by saying it's an abbreviation. RJ is what most call him by.
I know how to spell.....but when I am posting on this thread I do not read or proof and reread my posts prior to clicking submit....I type them up and then click submit.
I guess I should proof all posts but I do not....after getting my BBA, MBA and certification....I do not post on this forum like I am in class or studying or trying to pass a test.
After saying all that, sorry for the typo.

Cleveland, San Antonio, Orlando, and Boston (if they get R. Wallace) and Portland (if they get Hedo)
all these teams made moves that makes their teams more dynamic
For some reason I think I like the stacked squad that Boston will have over all the other squads
Rasheed Wallace
KG
Pierce
Allen
Rondo
Bench
Powe
Perkins
Big Baby
Marbury
their team looks damn good!!!!
Isnt Big Baby and Powe free agents? There's no way they can keep them, maybe one. Powe is a goner. I'd like to see the Lakers pick him up for the bench. I hope he doesnt go to a crappy team. He's a great piece off the bench. So is Davis. I didnt think he'd be this effective. What a playoff he had this year. He made himself some good money.

I think they will keep at least one of them. They did not have to give Rasheed Wallace big money.
Rasheed Wallace finally replaces what they lost when PJ Brown retired...and he gives them three point shooting....they will not need to keep both Big Baby or Leon Powe.......but I would not surprised if the Celtics pulled it off and kept both.
Even if only one remains, they have upgraded their team already -- when it is winning time in the NBA late in the 4th Quarter, Boston will have a tough squad on the floor.
