Ok look at it this way. Heat has home advantage, Portland have a poor away record and one the third game of a road trip that messes with sleep, eating and body rhythm.
A line of 9 or oabove everyone would take the heat, at -2 9% would play Portland thus the line is at a happy medium to get equal action.
If you are confused that is the intention. To understand the line you must stop thinking as a public player, when you say the line is begging the public to play Portland, remember the Heat was blown out v a strufggling Bulls team.

consensus pct is portland but the line moved from miami +4.5 to miami +4. Does that mean that some big bettors just put money on Miami? Also, is that what everyone calls "reverse line movement"?
