got little confused of o/u in MLB now as sometimes scrub pitchers throw a good game and you just can't bet over against em every time.
any idea?
And herein lies the challenge of betting MLB. See, it's easy to consider a guy a "scrub", but the bottom line is any major league pitcher is capable of throwing a gem on any given start....that's why they're in the bigs. Those that aren't don't stick around very long. We all can crunch numbers and arrive at a "probable" conclusion, but if it were that easy, anyone with any mathematical inclination would crush the books. I know all too well from playing and coaching the game that, some days, goofy outcomes will present simply because of the day-to-day grind as Pig noted. That's why I tend to stay away from favorites as the "public" expects an outcome on a daily basis. And with o/u, often times the bullpens have more to do with that than the starting pitchers.
