This play actually made me like Karl a lot more.  If I was coaching and had a chance to help those who supported my team win instead of losing I would absolutely do it.  For as much as these guys make, I don't think it's too much to ask that you do all you can from the opening tip until the final buzzer, especially if it's in the best interest of your fans.  I got screwed on a pointless three at the buzzer last week and thought it was ridiculous that the team I bet on lets them go down and shoot uncontested.

Ummmmmm.....not! Dude once he made tghe 2nd FT the game was OVER.  If he misses...Denver had that timeout...they would have had maybe 0.7 or so to go for the tie from halfcourt.  That 2nd FT was actually huge for the Bulls.

why? when its a 4 pt game...the game is OVER!!!  if he missed then Denver can still tie with having a timeout......you can still bring the ball to half court if he graps the rebound and call TO quickly

I don't agree.  If it's in the context of winning the game, then certainly.  So if your team is up 9 and it's -10 with 5 seconds left you instruct your player to try to score?  Ridiculous.

Absolutely. I think for the ridiculous amount of money these guys make they should play the full 48 minutes. Every second of it.

I also think that the other team should be trying to stop them until the buzzer sounds.

7 tenths....6 tenths...who knows....I had Denver +2.5...felt the only chance was for him to make the 2nd one...heaving up a prayer 3 at the buzzer, without being able to even get a decent look at it would have been pure luck...

No.  Because the only thing that could beat the Bulls is a foul.  What if he fouls him and there's 0.3 left.  He misses the FT and they tip it in for the tie.  It's called playing to win.  Bulls did the right thing.  Denver just showed no class in what they did.

there is no sense for me and you to continue to agrue with these guys....they don't understand the play and situation of basketball....The game looked clearly fixed and no one will convince me different!!!

I'm sure you've played basketball right?  How many times did a coach tell you to play hard defense but DON'T foul.  Happens all the time.  I agree a foul on a made basket would be horrible, but the Bulls could have tried to offer a little resistance without commiting a foul.

I did play in HS, but really that has nothing to do with anything.  I know basketball enough to know that if I am the coach I tell me players the only bad thing you can do right here is to foul.  You foul and you are benched.  That is the ONLY thing that could remotely possibly cost them the game.  Simple as that.  If you still don't grasp this concept then I don't know what else I can say.

Grasp it perfectly.  Every close game defense is played without a foul.  If my team is up 4 and spread is 3 and I know for a fact that a lot of the people in the stands supporting my team probably have money on the game, I'm not giving the other team an open layup with no one within 5 feet of him.

The bottom line is the NBA is about Basketball and Money.  A ton of money changes hands every day so it's really naive to think that it won't have an impact on the games.  Do I think this game is an example of a fix?  Not at all.  Do I think George Karl knew the line and that is why Denver scored? Absolutely.

anybody that believes this game wasnt fixed and it was just denver practicing their 2 point play is a complete idiot and shouldnt bet anymore.  Sorry nba teams dont just call timeouts with 1 second left down 4 in games, then launch up a 2 pointer instead of trying to hit a 3 pointewr and get fouled.

So in other words denver was more about practicing a 2 point play, then actually trying to tie the gameget real.

chicago was part of this shit also. they are up 94-90 and the guy misses 2 freethrows, then allows the 2 pointer from denver.

Sorry folks but all chicago bettors were on the wrong side of this fix, case closed.

This isn't new, call it fix? call it point shaving? call it rigged?

Who commanded it? Who Lay the plan? Who called? Which team does this? Which Player Does That? It doesn't matter, Because The truth is, There is something going on to make it right for people who benefited from it.

Is it everyday? any day? every week? It doesn't matter, besides we can't know it all...

Hey, I Include this in my capping, remember the chicago sacramento game last year? where chicago lead a bunch of points i think 30 in the middle of the third, and after 4th, sacramento won and cover.

We just need to be in the right side, but it's hard, who knows what will happen right?

But whenever i see the lines, i include this in my capping, who's gonna lay off tonight, who's gonna shave points tonight, what team is so hot and giving just 3points to the underdog, hey.... you expect charlotte to play well against the Spurs? and Spurs to play bad against the charlotte? and the line is 4tie? So you think vegas is genius huh.....

Include the rigged, shave, and fix in your capping, and just hope you will be on the right side...

But i know how you feel guys, it happened to me a bunch of times, many times i lose, many times i win because of that.....

Already seen a plenty of weird games, winning teams taking quick and bad shot every possessions and they lead by 12, 1 min left, only to let the underdog cover +5.5...

So, I Include that in my capping, selling to let the other teams cover!

It's tough, you need to deal with that.

If i'm on the wrong side of the mooseeeeee? Then no one can blame me too for blaming the fucking nba is bullshits! in the end we can't retaliate to no one, we just feel bad, thinking and thinking rewinding what happen in our mind. We are drained! Bettors Need Luck most of the Time.

People Who Think NBA is 100% straight, with no shaving points even once? Is Ignorant!!!!!!! You Should Open Your EYES PEOPLE! It's not new to me...

Just Hoping Picking The right side in every game, whether i suspect it as a selling game, or not.

    Bounce back. Good Luck!

How about this.. next time placing a bet on either Denver or Chicage remember that Denver cares about their fans covering and Chicago doesn't.  There is no one who will argue that Denver didn't draw up a play for the sole purpose of covering for their "fans" (at least for one game).  Karl knew they had lost the game but could still make Denver's fans happy.   I don't see what's not to like about it.

Dude, I've known the NBA was fixed ever since Donahugh (sp?) was sent to prison for fixing games back in '06 I believe.

What cemented it in my mind was when the Suns (-4) played the Spurs game 1 in the NBA playoffs.  I had the Suns ML to complete at a massive long-shot parlay $20 to win $1200.

Steve Nash got head-butted by Parker late in the fourth, and they called a personal foul on Nash.  Needless to say, Spurs won the game.

Shortly thereafter Donahugh got caught fixing games for some mobsters.

I really think though, that a lot of players / coaches in all sports read the paper daily and think "Hey, we're 4 point underdogs... pssshhhh" and try like hell to people betting against them.  Just my .02.

I bet against my favorite teams a good bit....it comes down to the situation and line movement most of the time....So how can you be for sure that the Denver Fans decided to bet for their team at the end of their long road trip and against a Bull team who has had the whole weekend off.

So what I'm saying is that Sharp Gamblers bet on situations/systems not their favorite teams!!!!

Example: I bet the Lions two weeks ago against MY Redskins because of the situation and made money!!!!!

Fair enough.  Consider Denver plus the points as a dog.  I don't really think you can fault Chicago though.  They were probably as surprised as anyone that Denver did that.  Can't blame em.
