Mak's Weezy Wednesday Slate

Miami does not match up well whatsoever against the Blazers.  Miami's most glaring weakness is their lack of size on the interior.  They really do not have anybody over 6-8, 6-9 who can guard bigs.  And one Portland's biggest strenghts is their size up front as they have pretty much three 7-footers in Aldridge, Oden and Pryzbilla.  You saw Miami get destroyed inside against the Rockets on Monday, they simply don't have the size to deal with opposing teams big men.  I see Portland dominating them on the glass again tomorrow.

Also Shawn Marion is not nearly as effective now that he doesn't have Steve Nash spoon feeding him with alley oops, dunks and other easy baskets.  For someone who is making the kind of money he does (around 17 mill) I would sure hope for a little bit more production than 12 pts and 9 rbs.  I wouldn't call him a deciding factor in this game at all.  Aldridge is too big and strong for him to deal with. 

Not sure if I will be playing this game as D-Wade is playing off the hook this year and he gets every call from the refs so I can see him keeping this game close by himself.  Also, I do not like betting Portland as favorites of 5+ pts.  They seem to relish the role of underdog and small favorite but I'm not really interested in laying big points with them.

Mak, with you on the Celtics for Wednesday. I hope they absolutely demolish the Warriors... and get revenge for me and joe public for their pathetic showing today against the Wiz. Seeing how the Celtics carved up the Pistons twice, carved up our Raptors, carved up the T-wolves etc... I don't see the Warriors being the exception. GS has got one of the top offenses in the league, but I envision them being shut down immediately by one of the top Ds in the league... Celtics 4-0 ATS in their last 4, lets keep it rollin.

But I'm goin with Rockets today. I actually bought the hook here for -9.5... your write-up made me want to take this precautionary measure in case it gets too close, but I'm envisioning an early blowout. I think a 10 pt cover is easily attainable. rockets are only 10-5, (8-7 ATS) but that is actually pretty damn impressive, considering that during this stretch they've had the toughest schedule in the early part of the season, the majority of games have been on the road, AND they've sustained a few injuries to key starters (t-mac, yao, ron-ron) during this stretch, not to mention that they've beaten some quality teams along the way. Indy will be one of the first gimmees that they've had in a while. Indy is coming off a back to back against Dallas, where they were leading most of the way but then crumbled in the 4th quarter. That loss will be disheartening. Rockets are playing on a day of rest, and are at home. And I read on the Houston Chronicle website that Shane Battier might make his debut in this game. that will give them a lift...

I still think Indy has issues... Granger is playing hurt also, I believe. The score today against Dallas was right where it should have been... cuz Dallas is not very deep. But against a dominant stacked Houston team whose own bench could probably compete well against most teams' starters, gotta put my money in the hands of Yao and Co.

I ran the numbers and Mak is up over 31 units on the NBA season. If my calculations are correct. Great Job Mak...keep up the good work!

Pacers +10.5 is kinda sticking out to me

Orlando too... realistically this should be a blow-out for the magic.... that -2.5 just screams upset.. anytime i see a home team favored by less than 3 it seems like the casino is calling the upset... cmon dwight howard is going to slay e. brand

the magic are a joke surely after all theses teams with ridiculous payrolls they would of learnt that r.lewis is not a max contract guy for all those years, no other team was even interested anywhere near that wage. there is infighting at orlando just like at washington they just hide it better and have a beast in howard surrounded by very good but not great SF's - that lineup is a joke lewis and the turk are tall yes but are genuine no 3's, even at the point things are messed up. their chemistry is messed up and they will end up trading soon lets see how long it takes those fools to realise

 

76ers will win no problems they have a better more talented and well balanced team and will go real far come finals

 

SHAQ was rested against the thunder and aint anywhere near injured according to the commentators, nash will lead this team to an easier win this time

gl tonight mak....i got spurs, indiana, celtics and nets (prior to reading ur post). reading ur picks, i feel very confident tonight. spurs are my $$$ pick for tonight. as far as parlays and teasers...well monday i included philly in all of my parlays...if i didnt include them at all i would have won a sh!t load. last night it was the warriors that fcked my parlays. so tonight i try something differet....i think i made like 3 parlays tonight and not one team is in more than 1 of the parlays. oh and i also like the magic, but that would be a conflict of interest since i will be at the game roooting for the sixers.

Agree on some of your points and slightly disagree on our starting lineup is a joke.. I liked our team much better last year but.. pietrus has done good for us lately he's stepping up and hopefully Johnson will carry it out he's not playing bad ball moves the ball different then Nelson.. Nelson has been hot of late ... So risky bet but I still will do a small wager since I am a Magic Fan =)
