Mak's Money Monday Slate

This is a real tricky slate of games today, I think the spreads are getting fined tuned.  The spreads are very very accurate.  Vegas will get a lot today as the accuracy in my opinion is spot on.  There is a way around it, it's not smart nor is it something you can do often but I am going to tease some games both ways.  It could backfire on me but if my capping is correct these games should be very close to the ATS spreads that are set, minimal movements on the lines should prove this tomorrow.  Hopefully.  Here we go:

GS WARRIORS - 1.0 - - - Here is my one and only ATS play for the night, the Warriors are a good team.  Better then most think, better then I thought.  I though Baron made this team but guys like Jackson are the true leaders of this team.  They have a lot of swagger and pride and know the Griz just beat the Magic in MEM.  They know they have to ease up on 3's and play better defense.  This was all evident with a good fundamental win in NJ.  After their loss to TOR they brought it together and shot much better vs NJ.  Better decisions led to a victory.  If they get their heads together, trade Harrington and Monta Ellis and bring a top tier player on their squad this GS team can be deadly.  Watch for Azubuike, and Rook Eric Gordon to make some noise against a young inexperienced Memphis backcourt.  GS wins in what should be a close game.
WARRIORS 3.0 UNITS - - -

2 TM (6PT) TEASER - - - PHI - 6, GS + 5.5 - - - I am pounding this Philly game on teasers, I would take the - 12 spread but John Salmons always plays very well in Philly against his former team.  GS at + 5.5 is a good bet, if GS does somehow loose I doubt it will be more then that.  These are two games when I wouldn't go the other way on teasers.
2 UNITS - - -

2 TM (6PT) TEASER - - - PHI - 6, CLE + 8.5 - - - Again the Philly play.  I doubt Sacto can stay close against this talented Philly team.  King and his boys will play well in Dallas, I just do not trust this Dallas team.  Mo Williams has impressed me a lot, CLE's depth has also impressed me, CLE will keep this close.
1.5 UNITS - - -        

2 TM (6PT) TEASER - - - PHI - 6, ORL - 1 - - - Chicago will cause problems for the Magic.  Nevertheless the Magic basically have a 7 man rotation.  Orlando plays their starters heavy minutes each game.  Nelson will shoot better, Lewis and Hedo will play well, Superman will eat the block up and their under-the-radar pickup in Mikel Pietrus will shine.
1 UNIT - - - 

2 TM (6PT) TEASER - - - CHA + 12, GS + 5.5 - - - Here is the switch, I like DET to win the game, but also think CHA can stay within 12 points.  Will be playing DET in teasers as well.  Combining it with a strong play as GS should win in MEM.

2 TM (6PT) TEASER - - - DET - 1.0, CHI + 13 - - - Here is another switch up, this is more risky as I do think ORL has the capability to blow out the Bulls, however I do believe in this Bulls team and think they can keep it close.

2 TM (6PT) TEASER - - - ORL - 1, DET@CHA OVER 179 - - -  My first teaser mixed with ATS and total.  I like the DET@CHA OVER play just not enough for a straight wager.  Gonna play a few teasers with this total.  DET has scored 100 in all their games this season, under the helm of Michal Curry they continue to run and score.

2 TM (6PT) TEASER - - - GS + 5.5, DET@CHA OVER 179 - - - Not much to say here, GS POD combined with what should be an easy over.

2 TM (6PT TEASER - - - PHI - 6, DET@CHA OVER 179 - - - That is 4 teasers that rely on Philly, that is 5 units on them, I just think it is better then putting 5 units on - 12.  My way of thinking I guess.

Well that is all folkes, I know it's a lot of teasers and not really anything else except for the obvious GS play.  Despite the public on it, it doesn't matter, it is a good bet but MEM should not be under-estimated and the line is accurate as this will be a close one.  BOL to all my wagerline buds. - - - MAK

gl tomorrow mak. dont know if i like this play as much as i have some of ur others. hate to lay points with the warriors on the road. they looked great against NJ but im still a little weary. also, just about every other thread i have opened has GSW -1 as a play, and frankly, i hate to see everyone in here on a team that i am betting on. gonna look into the game further. not seeing anything that really pops out to me as of now. gl on those teasers! peace bro.

Monta's role has drastically changed from last year to this year. lets see how he performs with the pressure of being the star guard of a team. was real easy the last few seasons to back up a stud like baron.....no pressure at all. kid just went out and reacted. not saying that he is gonna go down the tubes or anything but being alone in the limelight is definitely going to be a transition for him imo.

BIGLUBES - - - K let's have this discussion.  First off Monta Ellis is not a star.  He is a great player, not a Star homie.  I say trade him, he can't play the point, he just can't.  Too eratic and fast to be controlled and poised.  He is more of an off guard.  Package him and his Mo-Ped riding ass with Harrington, Bellinelli and maybe a few draft picks and ship them all off to Denver for Iverson. That is my opinion.  Book it, with A.I, Maggatte, Jackson, Biedrins they can at least make a push for the playoffs in the west.

TRIC - - - Tric I know what you mean, you hate going with the public on a play like this because historically it comes back and fucks you.  But I really have a feeling there are no tricks here.  GS is the better team.  Go for a small wager then. thanks for the luck on the teasers, need some for a good night.  BOL to you my friend.

Mak - you know Memphis' recent win over Orlando was a bit misleading. Orlando lead Memphis by 16pts at the start of the 2nd half and they simply quit playing D which is coach Gundy's specialty. Plus Orlando went ice cold on offense. I see Orlando's weakness this year in their back court play and their lack of athleticism at both their guard and forward positions. This is the basic fundamental reason that I like the Warrior's match up against nearly all positions against Memphis except at center, because Orlando ultimately could not match up with Memphis at the guard and forward positions in the second half of their last game. This is why my gut still tells me that the Warriors hold a distinct matchup and experience advantage against Memphis in every position besides, of course,  at center. Hence, I'll probably still make a small 1 unit play on the Warriors in spite of the Vegas 'trap' game theories circulating this thread.

IVERSON TRADE - - -

Dunno what some people are even smokin these days, how can you not realize this is a magnificent move for the Detroit Pistons.  Allen Iverson is what of the best pure scorers in the league, he is also ranked up there with the most heart in the NBA.  He has guts, no regard for his own body and a reckless will that makes him one of the best players in the league. 

Don't get me wrong I love Billups, but I havn't seen a fleecing of a top tier player in this league since the Vince Carter deal in Toronto.  Allen Iverson will go down in the hall of fame, he still has a lot of gas in the tank and Billups and McDyess are alone not worth the player quality of Allen Iverson.  Dumars does it again.  Now all he needs is Darko Milicic to show up a little so he doesn't go down with the humiliation of the worst draft pick since Kwame Brown.  Dumars has done big things in D.Town and this shake up is just what the doctor ordered for the Pistons.  I already bought tickets to the game on Wednesday and am giddy to say A.I's debut live baby.
