You know what is sad? Brian is the one who gave him that stupid deal. B.C has made quite a few mistakes so far I am hoping this trade is not another one and I don't think it is. I give him a lot of credit for having the balls to trade J.O and admit he made a mistake. I respect a man who can admit when he is wrong.
Colangelo liked the numbers so much on the Banks contract that he's carrying a similar one w/ Kapono; what's troubling though is the lack of value Colangelo seems to place on draft picks - although this is protected at 14th until 2014, he spoke during the conference call yesterday about how there are few true talents beyond that point in the draft which seems to ignore Granger's selection at 17th, a contentious issue among Raptor fans given that the team (under the auspices of former GM Babcock) selected both Villaneuva and Graham in the same draft year despite having 2 chances at Granger; his reasoning is also undermined by the Spurs track record at drafting (which is a direct result of possessing a superior eye at assessing talent, a deficiency that has plagued the Raptors during the draft over the years).
If Ukic can work on a semi-reliable jumper, he may in the future usurp Calderon at the point - the way he punished Parker by driving in the last game against San Antonio probably made SA's management take notice and keep him on their radar. Although he has a propensity to be wild at times, the fearlessness he possesses would stand him in better stead versus Calderon, who is somewhat loathe to be proactively aggressive, almost in fear of disrupting his stellar assist to turnover ratio.
From an outsider's perspective, there still persists the question as to whether Colangelo has a definitive plan/strategy in place or if he's doing it on the fly; you can have the illusion of building a playoff team that you believe will contend for the championship or is (in reality) just a treadmill squad able to qualify, but a paper tiger in disguise and inevitably destined to be bounced each and every time.

DON'T KNOW HOW THE WEST CAN BE FAVORED BY 4.5 WHEN THE POWERHOUSES ARE IN THE EAST THIS YEAR WITH BOSTON ORLANDO AND CLEVELAND AND GARNETT,ALLEN, PIERCE,HOWARD, RASHARD LEWIS,LEBRON JAMES AND MOE WILLIAMS ALL REPRESENTING THE EAST. THE LONE POWERHOUSE IN THE WEST IS THE LAKERS. I STILL THINK YAO MING IS SOFT INSIDE. HOW IS A GUY 7'6" AVERAGING ONLY 9.7 REBOUNDS A GAME AND A GUY LIKE DWIGHT HOWARD WHO'S 6'11' AVERAGES 14? REASON, YAO IS SOFT! SHAQ AND DUNCAN ARE AGING AND GASOL CAN'T GUARD HOWARD EITHER. HOWARD WILL HAVE A HUGE GAME! POSSIBLY THE MVP IN THIS GAME! THEN YOU HAVE LEBRON AND DWAYNE WADE ON THE EAST AS WELL, BOTH MVP CANDIDATES THIS YEAR! I DON'T KNOW, I SEE THE EAST WINNING THIS GAME OUTRIGHT! I THINK +4.5 IS A GIFT!!!

1) Joe Johnson should be the favorite in HORSE... yet he's the underdog... without question the best bet in this matchup... HORSE is about shooting, the JJ is the clear cut winner...
2) there's a very good reason the West is favored by 4.5... they have a point guard and 3 centers... the East has no point guard and no centers... i love the talent and the show-stoppers on the East... but the West is the better team: CP3 (true PG), Kobe (top SG), Amare (at the 3!!!), Duncan and Yao (twin towers)... that is a dominant lineup... East will have their hands full trying to match points without a decent PG to distribute... i suspect LBJ will play point forward, but that's too gimmicky for this matchup...

last time i checked moe williams and devin harris were point guards! dwayne wade can play some point guard as well. see the job he did in the finals against the dallas mavericks a few years back. oh and dwight howard is playing center for the orlando magic and he's better than any center on the west squad!!!

Thanks guys, appreciate it. I just got lucky this weekend, sometimes gambles pay off. Isn't it funny one of my best profit days of the year comes on a day when there are no meaningful NBA games? Goes to show we are all gambling even if I hate to admit it sometimes. Hope some of you had a decent weekend, what the fuck am I gonna do on Monday? No NBA ball whatsoever, makes me very sad. :(
See you all on Tuesday. Peace out - - - Your boy Mak.
