There are far fewer hack a deandre moments because they don't go to him as a scoring option late, so yes I'm comfortable with that happening much less.

This makes sense to a certain extent because the public is often (though not always) betting with its heart (i.e., the team they want to see win and see advance) and that usually falls in line with what the league wants to see happen as well (i.e., the popular teams/players win and advance). I think in an era when there is so much money to be made off TV/advertising revenues (more than ever), you will see more and more square bets winning (just look at the year the NFL had, where squares won out). But Vegas is not dumb, and they will adjust/inflate the lines to protect themselves.

Achilles you have it all wrong.
If the Jazz are going to win THEY ARE THE ONES who need all on board, particularly Joe Johnson and you can't guarantee he'll be there to do it.
Jazz are the ones coming onto an opposing court in a spot where historically the home team, irregardless of team wins 4 of 5 times. S
The Clips have the resume. The Jazz have accomplished nothing. Clips have adjusted for Blake and the open threes they were giving up (and the pick and roll). What more do the Jazz have to offer? They've shown their hand. Now they have to rely on talent. It's there but it has to ALL be there. And all you get is 3/4 to compensate for that. That's not chick scratch but it's certainly not 6/7 a much thought and more common line for the home team in a game 7.

I literally played the -3.5 as soon as it opened (waking up early this morning just for this game) but it definitely was -3.5 as of this posting on 5Dimes.
I think, if you really don't want to deal with the points, parlaying it with Anthony's joshua at -250 is a possibility. I have a boxing guru friend who is aggressively promoting Joshua as a side. But if you don't lines of 4/5 6 kinda muddy the waters. 4 would be my upper bound to play it at a reduced bet.

I did Washington ML + Clippers ML. 150 to pay 495 which is not bad at all. 300 on Washington +5 in case they don't win. I see Thomas being very tired and coming off 4 straight wins this can be a let down game.

Exactly BB, in the information era, where we are overloaded with anything and everything we want to know as a capper but most of the time are too confused to condense it, the 2017 "square" bets sharp (typically dogs) because they know sharps have won with such bets in the past.
Like the Bucks +6 over the Raptors, the dog got huge public support but was destroyed in Game 4.
Sharp is the New Square. (So bet Square (favorites mostly to be "sharp" when necessary).

Scal, have you ever thought about why it is so much easier for officials to keep a basketball game close (or manipulate the outcome) than a football game or a baseball game or soccer match or a hockey game? I can think of 10 reasons off the top of my head, and that is just for starters, but basketball officials have the most power when it comes to influencing the outcome of games. And this relates to my previous argument about TV revenues and such which includes keeping games close for ratings.

Of course of course. The game has inherent opportunities for overt or covert manipulation by both player and official in innumerable ways. Tennis without modern day replay is another and has always had corruption.

It will be tight. It's a game 7 with teams with identical records. I just believe the game 7 at home, the experience, the adjustments, and the failure of the Jazz to close it out at home and the pressure compounded in the following game with that will lead us to a win. Then just a few free throws covers it. Just be patient. Looking for a late pullaway.
