I'm going to stick with the girl I brought to the dance and continue to think that there is no way in hell Cavs want to get off #4 seed as going to #5 would lose home court and going to #3 would mean possibly facing both Celtics and Knicks. If they stick in #4 seed, they'd most likely face Raps then Pistons, any team in the East would sign up for that path to the Finals. So with 4.5 game lead over 5 seed and a slim 1 back of 3 seed I don't think Cavs show tonight, in fact I have them getting 3 wins the rest of the regular season.

Meanwhile, Lakers want to lock into 3 seed and face Hou who the owned the season series. That path would avoid OKC until the West Finals if they make it that far. Lakers have a 1.5 game lead over #4 seed and with a few wins could lock it up.

Do Pistons mail it in hosting Raps to allow Raps to get closer to #5 seed and moreover push Atl and Philly to 6 seed thus face Celtics or Knicks? If I was Detroit I'd tank this home game and help get Raps closer to securing 5 seed thus possibly face them in 2nd round vs a dangerous Philly and Atl teams...with a loss tonight Pistons essentially push Atl and Philly a half game further back of 5 seed.

 I just saw that too monkee....looks like Knicks are punting this game so IF Cavs win THEN they'd be tied w Knicks and a chance of losing 4 spot over next week could be a possibility. What am I missing guys, I don't see a scenario where Cavs actually want to win this game UNLESS they want 3 seed which would mean facing Atl or Philly and then Celtics, that seems insane to me for a franchise hen if you tank you possibly get Raps then Pistons....what am I missing?

my thinking on a Knicks win monkee is it separates 3 and 4 seed even more so with a loss Cavs almost remove the possibility of them finishing 3 seed and ensure 4 seed....either way Cavs are motivated to lose tonight... I hate betting on Lakers but in this spot, I have to

Clips have owned us in previous 2 games but that was when Harden literally destroyed us, now he gone and we got Holiday and Henderson running...this to me feels like a very close game so will take the points w my home team trying to prove a point

Your reasoning I think is good on the Cavs, I'd definately want the 4 seed if I were them. Especially with the uncertainty around Cade.

I don't see your reasoning with the Pistons though or with OKC as you mentioned before.

I'd think OKC hands down wants home court and game 7 at home if they meet the Spurs in conference finals. Spurs already beat them how many times granted much earlier  in the season.

But I'd think OKC sees how they are beating people and would see home court as very important  for a game 7 .

If the Cavs lose by a lot, they laid down. 

Usually teams that give a 19 point quarter save it for the 4th.  Cavs did it in the 2nd.
