you guys have to kidding me? This is a great bet for $5.
I took the magic to win it all two years ago at 220-1 when the lakers, celts and cavs were kicking ass and I didn't win but it made it all the worthwhile.
If the clips keep winning and somehow make the playoffs, this is a fantastic bet, even if it doesn't win.
I've spent $5 on worse things.

I know a lot more about betting and odds than you do sir. Not going to claim I am a top handicapper here or anywhere, but I know what are good odds and what are bad odds.
Comparing Barkley is PERFECT analogy because you stated "200-1 is a long shot" yet 1000-1 would also be a long shot, but is impossible to win, since Barkley can't break 100 and the other golfers there are single digit handicaps.
You also need to distinguish between a sporting event and a voting event! Anything can happen between the lines, but if you already know what people are thinking, you can't win an argument for the other side!

Hey jackass! No player has ever won the MVP Award in the NBA that didn't make the playoffs... ever! The Clippers are in no position to get into the playoffs, especially starting 1-13.
