OMG 1991

I was sitting here going through some of my old cd's and wanted to make my own top5 over cd's i listened to in the 1990'ties. Then i dawned on me.. that all of my top cd'es are from 1991. Also at the same time i was in high school 17-18 years old and boy did we listen to this music, hell yes we did.

For me...

Guns N Roses - Use Your Illusion 1-2 (1991)
Metallica - Metallica (The Black Album) (1991)
Nirvana - Nevermind (1991)
Pearl Jam - Ten
U2 - Actung Baby

I am sure there where other great records that year.. but have there ever been a year since 1991 with such iconic records that we still listen to these many years later.

After giving it a bit more thought it seems like everytime a new style of music or a social trend or mood in society changes, it leads to 1-2 very awesome years with truely inspired material.

Here i am thinking 1968-1969 , 1993-1995 Britpop, Early 2000's dance music

That was a good year.  Here's another:

Tough to beat Mikael......3 of my fav albums (PJ, Metallica, Nirvana)

This great album also was released in 1991:

Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
Pearl Jam - Vs.
NIN - Downward Spiral
Depeche Mode - Songs of Faith and Devotion
