Got a couple buddies that bought me a ticket for this show (This Friday nite.....small venue in Seattle).......they've been telling me for a while that they put on a great show. I like some of their stuff but have never been "into' them.
Anyone seen them?

Four times. Each time I think Gord Downie, gets more eccentric in his rants and at the same time more entertaining. Musically they are a very tight band and are very solid. I think you will thoroughly enjoy the show and would love a post concert review from you.

My sister has seen them about 5 times now, but I haven't had the chance to yet. As Danger said, there's a reason she's seen them so many times. From what I've heard, they're an extremely solid live band.

Hmmm............well, how do I put this nicely......
GREAT FUCKIN SHOW!!!
THAT'S HOW IT'S DONE! Very solid band!
Show was at a place called the "Showbox" (sodo......the old Fenix Underground)...........probably squeezed in around 2000 people......... had never been there before. Not bad............not a lot of seating but 2 full bars with good service. Doors didn't open til 8........show started around 9.....we grabbed a table in the back for home base but I managed to maneuver my way to within about 40-50 ft of the stage (close enough to see the veins in Gords head) & rocked for the next hr. & a half. I can't name the setlist because I don't know the songs but it doesn't matter...........you can't help but having fun . I think I understand who Dave Matthews is TRYING to be.......
Count me in as a Hip fan............I'll definitely see them again.......& I'd recommend the show to anyone.

Attaboy. I love that summary......... seeing Gordo's veins pulsating. You caught a great setlist, with New Orleans, At the 100th, Courage, Blowing High Dough. Glad you loved it.

Was a lot of fun...........talked to a few Canucks that drove down for the show while waiting in line........seems like they have a kind of cult following & I can see why.

LOL funny to find this thread The Hip are from my home town. Very amusing to hear that everyone doesnt know them.I have grown up on them and hearing about them all the time, I guess you just assume everyone one else knows them. Great band and for the most part good guys.
