I'm a huge fan, and I can't wait to see him play halftime at the Super Bowl.  I've seen him in concert a few times....very entertaining.  Love  his music.

I've been a TP fan for years. I have his multi-disc greatest hits catalog Playback. It's awesome. I like listening to some more less than obvious songs like Rebel and Change of Heart.

Always like TP..even when I was a kid (27 now). His Anthology is great...

I love Petty.

Last time that I saw him live was the Southern Accents tour. (long time ago)

Til Tuesday opened for Petty and the Heartbreakers.


I thought Aimee Mann was hot back then when I was in college. Now when I see her, I just want to take her out for a meal and try to get some meat on her skinny ass body........

Petty does an amazingly kick ass cover of the Byrds' "So You Wanna Be A Rock An Roll Star" on his "Pack Up The Plantation" Live album.



Better than the Byrds' version in my opinion.

Another serious Petty rocking out tune was "Jammin Me" from "Let Me Up-I've Had Enough"

Hey dennis. . . Funny you say that about "Jammin Me". When I was in high school in Florida, my buddies and I would cruise around the beach and boardwalk, and that was one of the songs we'd cruise to. My buddy had a 1958 Plymouth Fury(remember Christine, the movie) named Christine, same color too, in pristine condition. Cruisin in Christine, jamming to TP!

Christine sounds just like this big ass hoopty Olds 98 of my friend's  that me and my high school buds used to ride around in jammin, way too much beer, and *ahem* "herbing" back in the day.

Jammin Me was , my senior year college. lol Kodiak.

Those were some great times. My buddy hated taking out Christine. He was afraid getting into a wreck. This car was kick ass. Identical to the one in the movie. We used to get so many looks. . . those were the days!

Kodiak, I'd wager that your Christine was a little better on the condition aspect than that big Oldsmobile of my friend's wat back when, but I'll bet that cool ass floating like a big boat feeling as you cruise in it was the same.

You got that right, dennis. At night, sitting around the bon fires, telling stories, drinking Milwaukee's Best, passing the deutchie, going swimming in the Atlantic, in no particular order. Getting all the slimmies we could to go along, while the tunes jammed out of Christine. God, it sucks to get old.

I love Learnin To Fly, Last Dance with Mary Jane, Don't Come Around Here No More, but I don't see him playing those.
