Forget the past big names - who is the greatest actor in this generation. TV or Movie. What actor always seems to make you think it's not him - it's the character. Let's talk the past 20 years.
I'll vote for Tom Hanks.
Honorable mention to Leonardo DiCaprio and Pierece Brosnan.
Hanks is top by far. Guy is great in everything he does.

Tommy Lee Jones Steven Seagal Gary Busey Erika Eleniak
Probably the greatest film ever made - action, suspense, drama, great dialogue
As for the topic, my vote for the best actor of this generation is Jack Nicholson. Great actor in a lot of good films. He doesn't just collect paychecks and gets wack roles like DeNiro. You gotta respect that.
Honorable mention: Johnny Depp. He has amazing range in his acting skills

Wallstreet, Walken is completely one dimensional, he's exactly like his roles that he does welcome in real life. A great actor but not even close...he goes w/the roles be cause tht's what he has.
You guys have some good calls but try to think of acting that requires a scale that is unreachable by 99.9% of work in Hollywood.
Goodness, Sean Penn doubles almost every single one of them over - imo.
Charlie Rose interviewed for an hour for a reason.
what f^^^^k do I know though, I'm old school. MP, Clooney? C'mon now..think that one through.
Surprised nobody mentioned Jeff Bridges. Unsung hero if there ever was one.
I would slot him in the top 6.
