Both are very resilient I agree. They likely would not have made it this far if they were not. That being said, NYY just seems to have this incredible mojo about them where they instantly strike back whenever they are down. I have watched every game this entire post-season and it has been uncanny their composture. I just would be shocked if they didn't win today. BOL!
Hey, I won't be shocked if the yanks win, they are a very good, and resilient team.
But strictly from the elusive "value" perspective...aj burnett -200 against this phillies team? No way, I'll take +185.

Pedro will not hold the yankees to a couple of runs. Pedro is not anywhere near where he was 5 years ago and his outing vs. the Dodgers is a misleading factor for many of you. His FB is flat and in the coldness of NYC he will not have many more options up to serve it up.. Pedro lasts less then 4 innings tonight as the Yankess jump on him early and often...
Sorry, but couldn't disagree with you more. Did you actually watch Pedro's performance against LA? Are you aware of the stat line?
7IP, 2H, 0ER, 3K.
Sure, his FB is low 90's. He's admitted he doesn't have the same power anymore. But his off-speed stuff was filthy and his FB was more than serviceable. His pitches had a hell of a lot of movement, even in the late going. To write him off is kind of ignorant.
I think that's essentially the problem with this series (and the lines) - Phils get no respect because hype leads you to believe that the Yanks are the chosen people. Be weary - AJ is not sharp against the Phils and he has not pitched this post-season without the series lead. If he can't limit the damage, it might be an 0-2 hole going back to Philly.
That said, I don't think I'll be playing Philly. I was eager to play them for the series at +175 and I missed the boat. I also couldn't pull the trigger against CC. I think it'll be a closer ball game tonight, with more offense. Considering the Over, but that's probably it..

I'll take Pedros stats this year vs Bernadettes stats any day of the week.
Last 10 reg. season games
Daddy - 5-1 3.63 ERA Burnadette - 3-4 4.84 ERA
2009 Post-Season
Daddy - 0-0 0 ERA (7 innings) Burnadette - 0-0 4.42 ERA (18.1 innings)
Good luck with those Yanks tonight though.
PHILS +176 for me though!!!!

So the final score was 2-0???Utley scored 2homers & I think Ibanez,Victorino,& Rollins all had RBI's to make 6-1 FINAL in game 1.I think "CLIFF LEE" really won that game & if wasn't for that 1 base error from Rollins probably wouldve been a shut out!To make it more sweet he pitch the whole 9 inning's without a problem.

Observations on Game 1: Utley was vintage Wade Boggs. Foul foul foul ball foul etc HIT. Problem: hitters behind him assumed they could take CC downtown w/o effort, and overswung. Looked foolish. Lee had the pitches of Carlton on crack. NY hitters (except Jeter) acted like 1st time at the Big Dance and swung accordingly. Error in 9th lost Lee a SO. That sloppy fielding has been Philly’s major weakness these playoffs. They say defense and pitching wins championships. Philly needs to ratchet up the D. The line on NY is huge. So huge it gives me pause to believe this one is a no brainer NYY win, even though some Philly $$ has come in. Can see this being 2-2 in the 8th, probably because everyone else seems to think otherwise. Did not see signs of major offensive effort from either team last night. Bottom line: Philly does everything to win tight one but loses it late with key error.
