Zero chance they let him finish throwing between 120 - 140 pitches...  And should not...  Second time they took him out this year throwing a no no... last time high pitch count for 5 innings of work...  peace_5

bottom line for me being a baseball lifer...

You leave the kid in for 1 batter in 9th. If he gets him out you continue to nx hitter.

Then if a hit you pull him

This is so true.  I'd shut up forever if anyone could explain to me the magic of 100 pitches.  Where are the stats for the either performance drop offs or injury increase risk on pitch 101 or 108 or 122, or pitch 67?  There of course are none, its a pathetically lazy way of picking out a number that the media can follow and pretend to be a part of when babbling on about their "knowledge" of the inner workings of pitching. 

You know what actually is much more important than pitch count, it's the rest between innings, specifically after a long one.  I always thought of it as the rest after a weight lifting set.  You can lift all day long if you take 10 minutes off between sets,,  but lower that to 30 or 60 seconds, and big problems pop up.

This is right on.  These "leaders" or so petrified of being the scapegoat for any pitchers injuries, that they will shrink to whatever the current trend in thinking is about what #' are being thrown out there.  Don't forget the players agents in the list of villains who have wrought this upon the game, they're right up there with the sensationalistic media in ruining the no-hitter, complete game and shutout.

D-IDIOT was quoted the pitch count had nothing to do with the decision to pull Skenes.He said he looked tired.lol As far people referring to Strasburg, Woods, etc there is zero evidence their injuries could of been avoided by pitching less.

Cannot disagree with that but why not error on the side of caution..  Not the Bucs time yet..  With jones.. keller.. skenes signed thru 2027 why not error on the side of caution..  11 starts for skenes and 2027 is a nice haul with more young arms coming for the Bucs in the minors... ie.. Ashcraft and Chandler and a few others...  With ortiz and priester in the mix also...  Possible Skenes may be the best ever ...  Never know..  Just 11 MLB starts... More no hitters  in the cards.. IMO.. 2027 is a long ride... peace_5... Better safe then sorry...

Not sure was not in the dugout or field with him playing .... But call me crazy when I go to the doctors I like Doc to make the call on my health concerns not my uncle from his sofa...  When I am in a plane I like the pilot to fly me not a passenger in row 3C..  You are my uncle on the sofa ...passenger in 3C not in the dugout...  To each his own.. peace_5

 Oh come on now, lets not play dumb, we know exactly why he came out,,   it was a predetermined pitch count. It had nothing to do with him feeling worse or getting him out of there (while throwing a no-no) because the bullpen options were better.  My point is this artificial # being assigned, has no merit, none.  To blindly follow this "better safe than sorry" philosophy is a gutless, herd-like mentality way to manage IMO.  

I'm sometimes wrong though, so there is that.
