wednesday's thoughts from the sty

thanks for the cubs over pig and f5 -.5. 

also, i'm fading anibal sanchez by taking pit ML F5. off 115+ pitches since 2010, he is 4-9 the next outing and since 2011 he is 2-9 in the next outing off 110+ pitches in the previous outing. 

so my plays for tonight (all parlays)
pit ML/blackhawks ML
braves-toronto over 8/miami-tampa bay over 7.5/blackhawks ML
angels ML/blackhawks ML
cardinals ML/angels ML/blackhawks ML/yankees ML 

pig the more i look at the schedule a lot of these teams are somewhat close to each other geographically. i think the biggest travel hangovers we'll see is with det/pit, houston/colorado, and seattle/SD. everything else is a fairly quick drive or 1-1.5 hour flight away. i don't think we'll see any hangover from toronto/atl since they played in the daytime yesterday so i would assume they made it back to atlanta fairly early last night.

forgot to include: sanchez threw 130 pitches in his last outing attempting a no hitter.

a word on pittsburgh-detroit.... with two pitchers capable of shutting the other team down,  coming off a 1 run total yesterday....i think one of these teams break loose tonight, and i think the tigers  offense is too potent to be kept down 2 nights in a row......a j burnett is a pitcher they are familiar with from his days with the blue jays and yankees..the pirates are familiar with sanchez from his time with the marlins...i wouldnt bet against the tigers. 130 pitches is a lot, but its one game, and sanchez is a mature adult, not a 19 yr old kid...the tiger bullpen has been better, and burnett just never seems to have any luck... im not on this game, but good luck to you....
metta.....look at houston...im on the astros +175 first 5 tonight. chatwood has stellar numbers through just 4 games this season.....but if you look at his body of work in his short career...hes never pitched well at coors and i think the numbers he put up the last 2 years are more representative of his talents as a pitcher than his first 4 this year..... i will roll the dice with erik bedard and hope he pitches like he is capable of....

Metta....it's not so much the travel in and of itself.  It's the travel + inter-league play + home & home + relative lack of familiarity amongst the teams and with the various venues.  That's not to say you can't find winners (i.e Sox/Cubs o9.5 FG which I'm not declaring a win since I didn't post it), I'm just saying that stats have to be viewed more carefully than usual.  For example, a number of the SPs will be working off a mound that they're not used to or may never have pitched off of.  On the flipside, it takes a hitter time to adjust to hitting backgrounds they're not used to as well.  These are but a few examples of why I'm treading cautiously today and maybe tomorrow as well which is the dreaded get-away day for a number of teams.  Maybe I'm over-thinking this but I just don't want to steer anybody wrong with all of the variables involved in this rather unusual scheduling...the likes of which I don't recall happening before.

Should have gotten in the F5 O3.5 Sf/Oak sooner, now it's at 4 +105  blah.

 i gave ya'll two of em already...and for the record, if you missed it...i like houston +175  oakland +105 oakland over 3 1/2 first 5 and arizona +115  all first 5...
