@bajalife
yep. too many wasted opportunities early on. Plus, it wasn't supposed to rain anymore today here. Meteorologist fail me again.
Royals/Tigers Under 8.5 -105
I just don't trust either offense at all right now. The Tigers have spurts where their offense shows up, but for the most part, they aren't scoring any runs. The Royals are just woeful. In their last 7 games, they've scored more than 2 runs just one time, vs the White Sox. Wind is blowing in from right, and two lefty heavy line ups so that helps a bit. Lugo appears to be back to 2024 form, when he finished 2nd in the Cy Young race. He's only given up 3 runs over 17.2 IP. No HR given up. If Flaherty can just throw strikes, and pitch to contact, this game should stay well below 9.
Chicago Cubs +122
Imanaga appears to have figured something out. He got beat up in his opener, but it was the Nats who have proven to be a formidable offense, so I don't hold it against him. His last two starts have been extraordinary, despite the Cubs losing both games. Luzardo has been really bad, aside from a 11K performance against the Rockies (cool). And his two bad starts, were here at Citizens Bank. Cubs have plenty of offense to win a shootout, if it comes to that, but Philly hasn't been hitting lefties at all, and in a game where it's probably going to be a "first to their bullpen loses" kinda game, I'll take Imanaga.
Los Angeles Angels +154
The Yanks are 3-7 in their last 10, and 1-6 in their last 7. Trending in the wrong direction, and it gets no easier tonight. It will likely be a bomb fest again, as winds are blowing out to left/center, but 10.5 is too high for me with how little offense the Yanks are producing, and how well Kochanowicz has throwing this year. He got beat around by the Astros in the opener, but since then 1 ER in 12.2 IP, striking out 9 and allowing 0 HRs. Luis Gil is on only start number two for the season, and he was far from sharp in his debut. This is a hell of price for a Yanks team to be laying while playing such bad baseball.
Tampa Bay Rays -116
Quite frankly, its just too cheap of a price to pass up vs a bad White Sox team. That's really it. Sulser hasn't pitched since 2024, so no idea what to expect from him, but I know the White Sox line up isn't very good, and I also know that the Rays line up is pretty good. That's enough for me to pull this trigger.
Rockies/Astros Over 8.5 -115
Quintana has gone to Colorado to be taken to pasture. It's a beautiful place for your career to die though. Houston is still hitting the shit out of just about everything, but they can't stop anyone from scoring. They are going to try a new arm tonight in Spencer Arrighetti, who last year, posted a 1-5 record with a 5.35 ERA. Baseballs should be flying in the little league park in Houston.
Rangers/Athletics Over 9.5 -115
2-1 ball game last night. Certainly didn't see that coming, but it doesn't change my opinion on this ball park. The wind is blowing out tonight too, and Rocker is known to give up a long ball or two, and the As have some thumpers.
