OK...Ok...I take it back. I'm placing a wager on the Nats +223 first 5-innings. Here's why.......looking at the GB/FB ratio, if I'm interpreting it right then Lannan is ground ball pitcher and Marquis is a fly ball pitcher. If the wind is blowing out, then the Nats have an egde if they can put the ball in the air. Lannan's ERA is 2.40 in the road and Marquis is 5.6 at home, so Lannan should be able to keep his team in the game until he gives way to the bullpen. Cubs may win late, but the value is hard to pass up for the Nats to be up by 1 or more in the top of the 6th.

Washington is absolutely worth a roll of the dice here.  Although it was the pretenders from Phily, whom they beat, I suspect that win has this club believing in itself again.

Lannan is the better pitcher today.  The Senators have nothing to play for, at this point.  That being said, there is no pressure on them to win . . . that is  . . . no public pressure.  However, I suspect everone on that squad is vying for a job (with exception to Zimmerman, and possibly a few others).

This is a great spot for the visitors to catch the Cubbies sleeping.  With the wind blowing out, the Cubs will be swinging for the fences each and every time up.  By the time it dawns on them, to not do that . . . this one will be in the books.

Let's face it, this team has solidified a playoff spot. These types of games they should just dominate. However, not always the case.
 
Washington:
 
Really aren't better at anything here, but losing. However, they showed great perseverance and resilience last night after being down and caoming back to win.
 
If everyone remembers last year this team, along with KC, came on strong in the late part of the year. Teams are not hyped to play Washington we all know that. This is when you can take advantage of spots like this. Only this time of the year will you have these opportunities.
 
 
Either way, even if Washington craps out in this game it was the right choice as far as value is concerned. There is absolutelty no value in Marquis at -300 at an over inflated public line and team today.
 
I took Washington last night and I will take that profit and ring a ding here today.

if you could indentify where value lies, you would be a professional sports bettor, but you are not

lol ur capping ability??....is there still value in the nats right now lol....there was a reason he was -300 today you idiot, it is well known that he is a crappy pitcher....also did you take into account nats played a night game and had to travel, maybe they are tired for a day game...guess not

I'm a cubs fan, but even I think nats were a decent value play today (I didn't play this game though).

At that number, I can see how it might have been worth making a small play on WSH.

it was still a longshot though.

well, Nats looking pretty good now.

still, Lannan blows and bullpen is even worse.

i will say this again,no team or manager plays to win 5 innings but they all play to try and win the game..i st half bets are just a crap shoot prop bet.. imo...

Yeah I took the first half line....I guess I didnt want to deal with a bad team that finds a way to lose games.  Too bad Marquis didnt fall apart earlier.
