As a Yankee fan, I couldn’t wait to get my $$ against Carl Pavano throwing in
In the spirit of Pavano’s brilliant performance yesterday, I’ve decided to predict today’s whipping boy.
Today’s two candidates are:
Mike Hampton on the road in St. Louis
Sidney Ponson vs. the Yankees lineup
Not as ugly as Pavano but both our whipping boys got whipped again yesterday.
Today’s Whipping Boy:
Horacio Ramirez will be throwing the Yankees BP today
With Guillen on the DL, the KC weak lineup now lacks a right handed slugger in the middle of the lineup. Expect C.C. to bounce back nicely and repeat the strong performance fellow left hander Andy Pettite did yesterday.
Joe hasn’t posted a lineup yet for today. IF and I’m just saying IF the Yankees were to drop one to KC it would be with a right hander on the hill vs. Meche.
Since the only advantage a bettor has against the house is the ability to pick the games, I’m exercising my right to pick a better spot today. I’ll be rooting for Joba today as a fan.
That’s a 5-0 week.
Not bad for week one. As a bonus, all 5 covered the run line as well.

Walter Silva at the Mets home opener
Silva is a 32 year old rookie who spent seven years in the Mexican league without dominant stuff. The Padres have him on loan while Baek’s on the DL thanks to a couple good outings in the World Baseball Classic. It’s nice to see the Pads are taking part in the inaugural Citi Field festivities by sending this kid to the hill.

Too bad the Mets pitching was worse. A special thanks goes out to Ryan Church for dropping a fly ball and to Pedro Feliciano for balking the winning run in. A Yankee fan losing money on the Mets is the most agonizing scenario in sports.

I had the opportunity to see Teixeira and Swisher go yard off Simon in
Well that was quick. They just pulled Simon after just an inning and a third. The fact that he faced only six batters and three of them homered may have something to do with it.

I somehow have that dissatisfied feeling I used to get watching Mike Tyson fight in 1988. Did you know that he won his first 19 pro fights by knockout and 12 were in the first round? Those were the days.
I spent a grueling day at the New Yankee Stadium yesterday. It looks like their bullpen were the whipping boys of the day.
