Blackburn isnt the same pitcher on the road. He's 4-12 with a career 5.35 era and 1.51 whip outside of minnesota. Batters have hit .313 off of him. Compare that to 9-3 with a 3.08 era, 1.25 whip, and a .268 baa and you can see the drastic difference. Make no mistake about it, the cell is a hitters ballpark but the weather hasnt been much of a help so far. When the weather warms up so do the bats. Its starting to warm up and the sox have went for 6 and 7 runs the last 2 nights. I believe this will be the nicest day of the year at about 75 degrees and sunny. Compare that to the 41 degree game colon pitched against the twins earlier in the year and the 39 degree game vs seattle and you can once again see the drastic difference. Besides those game where he got some great weather to pitch in he was roughed up by tampa, roughed up by texas, and roughed up by baltimore. The game against KC wasnt terrible (3r/2er in 5ip) but he allowed 2 runners per inning in that game and got lucky to escape with minimal damage. The toronto game was very good but he couldnt last more than 5 innings and both teams seemed to be asleep that day. His overall season numbers arent terrible (or great) but as a sox fan I dont believe them for a second. Umpire Tim Timmons has favored Overs big time of late. The Twins bullpen has been bad all year and the sox overall have been good but just decent of late. They used their 4 best relievers yesterday and 2 of their top 3 relievers in back to back days (thornton/linebrink). Jenks usually doesnt pitch unless its a save situation so I think the sox bullpen is watered down today and for a guy in bartolo colon who has failed to pitch more than 5 innings in 5 of his last 6 starts, that spells trouble.

I would guess 50/50. I would assume he wants out of san diego but I'm pretty sure he wants to stay in the NL and wants to pitch closer to home which is in the south. I think I heard he wants to pitch for the braves.

Ozzie is a prick but his players love him and I think Linebrink let Peavy know that.

I had that gut feeling too but I needed more than that to make a play in this one. I'm laying off.

I'm considering it (I wont be on the nats, thats for sure) but I still want to know more about this stammen kid first.
