Sorry to hear that! I went through alot with My terrier Lab mix. I got him before
9/11 in 2001 in June. He was the nicest and sweetest dog you could imagine. He
was ok til he he was 6 going on 7. Then i came home 1 day and he was catatonic.
He wouldnt eat and was barely moving. I know God was with us that night cause
he made it til the morning and we got him downstairs to go to the doctor. It turned
it he had Lipoma. It was a benign fatty tissue and they had to do surgery to drain
the puss out. After the surgery he was so energetic and happy i was so relieved.
After that he got Hypothyroid so he had to take medicine for the rest of his life.
A little after that he started stumbling around one sunday in the fall and it turned
out he lost his sight cause he had diabetes. He had to get insulin every day. Finally
when he turned 11 he get an aggressive cancer. We took him to get chemo which
cost 7k. It gave us a whole summer with him but when it turned september he
was not right. Went to take him to the hospital and he zipped down the stairs
like nothing was wrong and went into the car. The next day he was gone and
we had to put him to sleep. My 2nd dog at that time got hit my a car at 10
months old in 2004. We were so blessed that it seemed he bounced off
the side of the car and the car was going slow enough it wasn't huge
impacT. He was so smart and you knew it was all God cause he ran
all the way home and know where we lived even though he was 10 months
old. I chased him back to the house leaving my other dog on the sidewalk
who didnt even move which was crazy. My girl used her first aid knowledge
to apply pressure and i called animal control who only usually take an animal
if they are dead at least what they said. They werent supposed to bring him
to the vet but they did and he got surgery and survived. Doctor said he would
never run full strength again but of course he did. He lived til 15 years and
2 months and then Kidney failure got him quickly. 2 days later i got My
dog who is dealing with High liver enzymes now. You almost never
would know but his energy and chasing balls cats skunks and squirrels.
standing on the counter to steal paper towels but they are high and
finally a biopsy will be done.
Success is never final, failure is never fatal, and it's the courage that counts.
