I will start by saying this game is my strongest MLB play of the season
Bartolo Colon is a fat piece of piss, and he has been fading bigtime as the season progresses.
To show how this clown is wearing down, just look at his ERA month by month.
June - 2.25 July - 3.82 August - 4.85 September - 6.64
He is 0-3 with a 6.60 ERA against the RAYS this season. Couple this with the Yankees having absolutely nothing to play for, and the Rays having their entire season possibly riding on this game, along with the Yankees playing their 4th game in 3 days, this points me to a Tampa Bay win.
Let's now take a quick look at Hellickson's numbers. Hellickson is 1-1 with a 3.63 ERA vs NY in 2 starts, nearly half that of Colon's.
Hellickson, unlike Colon is getting stronger as the season progresses. A month to month breakdown of his ERA shows this. Completely opposite of Colons' tank job.
June - 3.94 July - 3.08 August - 2.48 September - 2.28
----------------------------------
POST ALLSTAR GAME - Hellickson ERA - 2.50 POST ALLSTAR GAME - Colon ERA - 5.09
This game is my personal 10 unit play of the season. -170 is a bit steep on the ML, I will play the -1 line at 5Dimes in the morning. Currently +115 on the -1 1/2 runline.
RECOMMENDATION - TAMPA BAY -1
enjoy.

Come on. Rays are due for a let down. Boston Red Sox will win out right BIG 12-2.
A letdown ? TB is 6-4 in their last 10, hardly a team on fire.
This is a pure situational play, a play that comes only once in a great while. Yankees playing their 4th game in 3 days, with nothing to play for. Two pitchers going in completely opposite directions. It's all outlined in my original post.

you forgeot to take into account they played 23 innings on sunday and did not check into their hotel unitl 5:00 am.
i went big yesterday -1 tb and will do the same today.
somebody front office had to tell girardi that he is a dumbshit playing old veteran starters when his series starts friday.
i see colon pitching 7 complete regardless of score to preserve nyy bullpen.

For what it's worth, this was written on CNNSI.com:
• Yankees manager Joe Girardi intends to use all of his top relievers in this game (specifically Rafael Soriano, David Robertson and Mariano Rivera, though possibly lefty Boone Logan and righty Cory Wade as well), to give them a warm-up appearance followed by two days off leading into the Division Series, which starts on Friday. That means that the Yankees may only need four innings out of Colon, so the Rays need to get to him early.

Good stuff. I just got on the TB TT OVER 4 1/2. Yankees aren't going to waste their quality bullpen pitchers. Colon should get lit up early and often.
ended up passing on the game. nyy have everyone playing except jeter. WTF, girardi? hes going to use his bullpen tonight(which i can understand) and appears to be giving a free pass tommorow night. maybe he thinks 2 nights rest(wed, thurs) is sufficient for his club.
i really dont understand the logic of playing his starters after a 23 inning dbheader and then 9 last night with a 5:00 hotel arrival followed by a game tonight.
this makes no sense.
