Red Sox/LAA series

Papi_4_MVP don't get fixated on the unit amount because more than likely I won't bet another game or series in the first round. If you add up your unit total for the first round, including tonight my guess is you'd be close to the same unit amount. The difference is your amount is spread out and mine is one series.

IMO this bullpen is the weakest the Red Sox have had in the last 3 years.

I think something that got overlooked in this thread and is a major part of my bet is the Red Sox are not a good road team. Sure you can argue if the Sox 'steal' game 1 but they had trouble with weak teams nevermind really good teams.....What happens when the Red Sox go dow 0-2?
Every playoff team is above .500 on the road except the Red Sox and the winner of tonight's game. Does anyone think the Yankees lose Round 1? Not me.

Bullpen is the weakest part of Angels, also Bulger got injuried in A's game few days ago. But I like the x-factors, the late Nick Adenhart, and off the monkey on their backs vs Red Sox.

Your proving my point Chilito. Not sure why you’d want to cite those stats and then tell us the Sox get beat.. Your pretty good at trying to yank someone’s chain.

Chilito, the role changed THIS year,  Masterson was not in that role this year, he WAS a mop up guy.

You seem to be fond of citing previous years stats. How about this one: the Angels second best hitter in the playoffs is not playing for them anymore. That would be Texeira, and Vlad, who hit 579 in the playoffs is gimping even more this year.

You do realize that the Sox have the exact same road wins as last year? 39-42...How did that work out for them last year?? Oh yeah, they came back down 3-1 to take the Rays to a game 7.

The Angels lineup is better than it has been in the past.

Red Sox have arguably the best bullpen in the playoffs but hopefully you wont see a lot of that.....But that is all in the hands of Beckett and Lester going 7 + innings and I would feel comfortable......

Yes the Red Sox are going to be the second worst team in the playoffs on the road but they get their 2 horses to pitch back to back games on the road.....No Paul Byrd, No Wakefield, No Tazawa......But they are the 2nd best home team in the playoffs....If they steal one of the first 2 in Anaheim this series should be very interesting.

Boston is the same team they had last year and add Martinez and Agon

Add the fact that Lowell is healthy too. Sox win one out west, they win at home.....

Wed I played the Twins +400 and lost 1 unit (just wanted to post it here).
I also just played the Twins +800 for the series for 1 unit local (looks like he juiced the line Yanka -1200/+800). I really don't anticipate winning this bet and I give myself a 2% chance but I think Yankee pitchers are hittable and as we saw last night weird/crazy things happen around this time of the year. Imagine fans waving white towels played a HUGH role in a comeback.

Onto the Red Sox/Angels today.
I wrote above that David Ortiz would be a non-factor in this series so its like the Red Sox have an automatic out in their lineup, 3k's and a groundout to 1st. Today its even better. Jason Veritek is in the lineup (supposed to catch Beckett). I look at this as having 7 outs and they'll be around 3 batters away from each other in the lineup....meaning...rally killer. IMO Beckett has to pitch unbelievable, which he can, but I don't like the fact he had cortizone shots in his back a week and a half ago.

You were right about Ortiz last night and I posted that Big John Lackey in a contract year will come up big. The stadium was about the loudest it's been in a while (the thunder sticks helped a lot). I will be at tonight's game also and will be yelling with what's left of my voice for another win. That's one down and 2 to go. Good luck!

I am very today.

I just try to offer my insight to this forum. Some people agree some don't. As I watched the Red Sox down the stretch I didn't like the way they were playing coupled with the fact that they totally dominated the Yankees early and struggled with them late. The other major influences were the Sox struggled big time on the road and LA is on a mission. I'll be on LA to beat the Yankees and I'll have a writeup tomorrow or whenever I get a line.

Me too +26.75 units this week. I'll be on LA next series too but for less units.
