This is a silly post.  How is playing the game have anything to do with being a better handicapper.  Dogs hit at a higher rate in hockey than any other sport so if your're a dog player it's the best sport to bet on.  The fact that any one can win on any given night only makes my point stronger.  This year in the NHL dogs are 39-31 +18.43 units risking one unit a play.

Call me a homer, but I see Utley and Howard swinging some stick today. They will score enough runs that Cody Ross can't solo-shot his way out of it.

Thanks for stopping by and letting us know that your opinion means nothing when it comes to capping this game.  Is there a more sensitive group than Philly fans on the planet?  Philly fans stay out of this thread because obviously it's impossible to take your opinion on this game seriously.

I agree that any team is capable of winning on a given night but you could say that about the NBA, NFL or MLB. I think the oddsmakers are generous with hockey linesi as I've seen some of the softest lines in hockey. Even the prop bets are good bets in hockey.....SOG totals, etc..

Phillies all day.  Cain croaked AT HOME against the weak hitting Padres with the division on the line during an afternoon game such as today.  Think the Phillies are scared of Cain's straight 95 mph fastball down the pipe?  I think not!

Whats up 165? Tough couple days in hockey indeed. Still feel bad about kentucky and wisky as you removed them from your card last saturday (but did recomend not taking Nevada!!)

I like your Bruins play. I think if they do win, then the under hits because I dont think they score 4 goals in this game ....+360 for that parlay.

I also like the Canes at +170. SJ shouldnt really be that kind of fav to anyone yet. The Wild also look decent, but +110 isnt to enticing.

My favorite play of the night is a 2 parter.

Play one is Giants/Phils O6.5

Play 2 is Giants /Phils U23.5 H/R/E

I do kinda like the Phils tonight simply because still dont trust the SF bats. I see a line like this:

I played Minor League Baseball - some of the biggest losing gamblers are Professional Athletes.

i am not trying to be a dick, i like the way you only bet on dogs and i respect it....my point was that playing the game for so long i know a lot about it and the players and every aspect of the game....hockey is a whole different game from other sports and like i said any team can win on any given night for example the red wings losing to phoenix last year in the playoffs.....in my opinion hockey is the hardest sport to win betting on it....i could go way further in depth but ill just leave it alone....

NBA is basically a one on one league played by millionaiers who get checks regardless of outcome. College bball is where the money is. You can get a pretty good feel about a team and if another squad has the horses/coaching/home court advantage to win.....

nba is a crap shoot ( not saying its uncappable, just more difficult)

98% of the ppl who didnt play the game dont know anything about it.

i would love somebody to explain to me what a left wing lock is, or a 2-1-2 forecheck, or even an umbrella powerplay is

besides 165yds i think the majority will agree hockey is the toughest sport to WIN at

i use situational handicapping more than anything... and the nba provides the best situations to take advantage of... plus it helps that games are fixed

i just cant see how the giants win today.. just cant see it.. ill be surprised if they get 3 baserunners on hamels let alone 3 runs if you think thats all the phils can produce off cain who in my opinion is not the best pitcher in todays game.

also hockey is a lot easier to cap than NBA.. NBA is so effin hard.. vegas pays more attention to it when creating the lines i believe..

We  all know  thaqt  no  matter  how we cap the  game , the  game  will be  played and anything can  happen.

I  am  basing  my bet (2 dimes) on  San Fran because

1. San Fran at  home are  50-33, which  is where  most clubs ought to  be , but they  have the  edge at  home.

2.  Matt Cain has a season WHIP 1.09, which is pretty  fucking  great..   At  Home, he  has  2.93 era     record 8-4    and opposing hitters are  .208

3. San Fran  hits  lefties  at  home .271  vs  Philly against  righties on    the  road .249

   San Fran  has  hit lefties in the  last 10 games .304

   Philly  has  hit righties in the past  10  games  .238

Lots o' K's for Giants hitters tonight.  Phils will hit .311 versus Cain and they are a good road team.  Hamels has been good for the two months.  Predict 5 - 1 or 5 - 2 Phils.
