Molina? Swisher is in a slump but he helped this team for most of the season. As of now...I wouldn't like to see him at bat in a big spot, but he is a big part of this team.

The Yanks have two glaring weaknesses, Swisher and Melky, both are 4th outfielders on most teams, its mindboggling to me they are both starting for the Yanks though.

there offense hasn't been good this postseason other than some clutch hits . the only guys hitting are jeter and arod. the pitching has won them the games. it was a team 1.61 era before this game today

as long as they continue to win, Girardi probably doesn't want to fuck with anything in the lineup....however, Swisher has been coming up small for over a month now.....either Haiston or Gardner (although Joe likes the idea of bringing the speedster in in late innings) are clearly better options right now

Yeah, a #8 hitter who gives you 25+ hr power sure is a glaring weakness. He strikes out a lot, but he plays good D and gets on base. What the hell do you expect out of a #8 hitter?

Can't count Molina, he only plays once every fifth day and is a quality backup glove as insurance and doesn't have to hit with this lineup.  Gardner is so much better than Melky and Swisher, Giradi isn't exactly Miller Huggins as the manager, why they cant give our old friend Buck a call is confusing.

Are you NYY fans really bitching about Swisher and Melky?  Really?  I don't do this but come on now.  So what next year buy another $20 million dollar OF?  Is that the solution?  Both of these have been very good for you at times but now they are slumping you are bitching.  How about having Nick Punto at SS/2B, Tolbert at 3B and Delmon Young at RF.  Does those options sound better or worst than Swisher and Melky?  I just had to say something about that because if that is your biggest problem enjoy it and stop complaining.  BOL!

Not sure what they're going to do in the offseason with that problem. All I know is Swisher and Damon will probably be back.

Yeah nypride I think you hit the nail on the head.  The most impressive thing about the NYY this year has been their pitching.  We all knew they could hit.

Don't forget to add that .230 average and never hits to the situation.  The original plan was for him to be the 4th or 5th outfielder.  They got him in a trade for a box of baseballs and a stick of gum.  He shouldn't even be starting is my point,let alone on the Yankees.
