That is a really dumb dumb comment.  I have tons of Yankee fans and not one is a Laker or Cowboy fan.  If you are a Yankee fan you are also a Giant fan.  If you root for the Mets your most likely a Jet fan, it has to do with geography of the boroughs more than anything.  Most are Knick and Ranger fans as well from the NY NJ area.

I'm a Yankee, Giants, Knick, Ranger, Georgia Bulldog(Football), Duke Bluedevil(Basketball) fan.

Most Yankee fans are Giant fans and most Met fans are Jet fans. Thats USUALLY how it works(not all the time). I take after my father who was a fan of the Giants, Knicks, Rangers, and Yankees. I caught on to the college teams just out of interest.
