i would agree with this.... i would not suggest playing the Royals after a 3 game win streak because more then likely they will not go on a 7 or 9 game tear.. but on the other hand if its the Yankees, Red Soxs or any other team that may be bound for a playoff run i would rather play those RLs.... and vise versa when the top teams go on a 3 game losing streak i would play the next games RL as you do not expect them to go on a 5 or 6 game losing streak...
I understand your desire to find a way to make this work, but I assure you won't. All of these gimmicky strategies fail over time because the lines are too strong and numbers accurate to do things blindly.
I don't have time to do the research right now but even good, playoff-bound teams go on lengthy losing streaks. I remember in 2006 how the Red Sox had about a 10 game losing streak and lesser streaks happen with every kind of team, regardless of talent.
Also, you admitted yourself that for every team these kind of streaks only happen a few times a year, so imagine how rare your betting opportunities with be for an unproven strategy, at that.

More importantly, the run lines have identical value as money lines. If
you bet blindly on win streaks for the money line instead of the run
line, you will likely lose just as much.
that makes no sense betting the RL at -1.5 pays out more then a ML on a fav.... if you mean over the entire season the numbers will equal out you might have a point...
They can have more value, but they don't if you don't pick your spots. Of course, it pays more because the chances of a team winning by 2+ runs is that much less likely to happen.
