We can expect a superior effort from both chuckers tonight but having to play that double header in Cleveland last night had to cause some fatigue in the Yankees they may not be quick to overcome. Eight games on the road in seven days is a challenge for anyone, but to an already depleted lineup it can be a killer. The real unknown factor here though may be that the team that “can’t hit” according to the forum has a better offensive prospectus tonight than the team generally perceived to be the hitting team. In the 5 inning game the Mariners are 6-3-2 versus lefty and have an offensive era of 5.3 runs per 9, which will stand up to any offensive production submitted by anyone. At 7-4 in the nine inning game versus lefty and with the slightly better chucker on the hill I think we have a false favorite here.

Mr. Locke is no “lock” tonight by any means. He has looked pretty good recently but all things considered Lohse still has to be considered the better chucker. Couple that with the Brewers offensive advantage in the lefty-righty categories and we have about a 60% probability, much better than -121 requires.
Royals F5 (+105) FG (+117) (Guthrie / Vargas)
Guthrie is experiencing the kind of comeback year we saw from Burnett last year. At the moment his effectiveness rating is #2 on the staff, trailing only Shields, which stands to reason. Vargas has been roughed up a little lately and we don’t know if the Angels are ever going to hit like their collective resumes say they should be able to. The folks are still supporting them at the betting window though so we another good spot to play the dog.
Rangers F5 (-115) FG (-110) (Holland / Colon)
Holland has been the rock solid lefty Ryan knew he was when he let Wilson slip away. There is a distinct advantage also to the lefty in a lefty-righty matchup at Oakland in night games (There is a reason Billy Beane employs a lot of lefties). The war at the top of the division should bring out the best in this rivalry game and Colon is not showing the form he did in early April. Folks will bet the home field and keep the price down, but the visitor has most of the advantages tonight.

The Scoremeister says Tigers 6-3, but I have a well known phobia about home teams that are required to lay BOTH runs AND juice, and a team that will be trying to close out the game if leading by one in the top of the ninth, not caring one little bit about your run line play. On the M's and Rangers also, thought for sure you'd be on the Marlins tonight
I honestly think the Marlins are the better side of that game, odds wise, but other than that it is hard to see the winner. BOL if you play it, at least you are on the right side of the line!
