Monday early game, Detroit @ Boston

Detroit slighlyt better pitcher, Det better offense stats by approx 15% (batting av, hits, runs, hr), Det better team ERA by approx 25%,

And yet Boston are favs at -140, my guess is it's because Det has won the last 3 days and bookies probably don't expect a 4 game sweep at home?

So is there value in Det +120 , or are they satisfied with those 3W and already focus on their next serie at home against Milwaukee starting wednesday ??

wrong Detroit 2-1 in the last 3 days with Boston.  They have lost 9 straight road games before winning 2 b2b at Boston.  But they have a great run with home games before coming here.

Let's compare apple to apple in last 7 start games b/w the 2 pitchers:

Det Flaherty (1-3) included 3 ND & 3 Lost

Boston  Sonny Gray (3-1) also included 3 No Decisions

clearly it's Boston ahead with pitching.

But there's more: who has more career experience

Sonny Gray is making his 5th start of the season, and so far he has sandwiched two crappy road starts (8.50 ERA over 8 innings) around two excellent home starts (1.46 ERA over 12.1 innings). Based on that alone, I wouldn't go against the Red Sox this morning.

Last Year the Red Sox defeated the lowly White Sox 4-2 on Patriots Day, but the Red Sox lost this annual 11:05am ET game in 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, and in 2019. There was no Patriots Day game in 2020 because the fake baseball season didn't begin until late July.

I'm not a totals bettor, but the over may be the best play in this game. Both teams have great day splits, and both hit RHP well. Plus, the pens on both teams have had a lot of use.
