Getting my plays in now before the tornados/thunder storms take the electricity down, so guessing on some line ups.
Cardinals/Pirates Under 8 -104
May has got everything figured out it appears, and has been outstanding his last three trips to the hill. 17.1 IP and only 3 ER allowed over that time. The ERA is still monstrous from his first two outtings when he got his brains beat out. The Red Birds line up has come back to earth, and this is the team I thought we would see. Walker can't lay off the 2 strike slider. Burleson is like 2 for his last 20. Weatherholt is the only one with some life at the moment. Buccos going with the bullpen start, and then to an unknown rookie. That probably favors the kid, as the Cards won't know anything about his approach and or what they are going to try and do.
Los Angeles Angels -118
Kochanowicz has been good so far. Had a couple hiccups, but for the most part, he's been all you could ask for out of a #5 starter. Kay has been the same, but his big hiccup was his last one, where he allowed 8 ER in 3.2 IP to the DBacks. But the difference for me is who is swinging the bats for these teams. The clear advantage goes to the Halos, who are equally opportunity mashers, when it comes to LHP vs RHP. I don't expect any surprise day offs in the line up since the travel was about a 30 min flight, and Trout is running as hot as anyone (don't tell the Mike "Flounder" guy in here), so I'll take the better offense to carry them tonight.
Mariners/Twins Under 8.5 +100
The wind will be blowing out to right/center at a decent clip today, but it's going to be rainy and cold too. No one wants to hit a baseball in the cold, wind, and rain. When Castillo has his change up working, he gets a ton of ground balls, so that's what I'm hoping the game plan is tonight. Prielipp was good in his brief debut, but good news is, he doesn't have to be great cause Seattle still isn't hitting lefties. Twins aren't hitting anyone late either.
Chicago Cubs -104
Vasquez, by the numbers, looks excellent. But when you look at who he's done it all against, and what his nerd stats are, that bubble is gonna burst at some point, and it may as well be tonight. Boyd was great in his first start back from injury, shutting down the Phils, who struggle against lefties. You know who else struggles against lefties?? The San Diego Padres.
