Yesterday's game was a perfect example of playing a team you expect to lose. If Michael Saunders makes the catch in the first inning last night, I've got a great chance of holding +185, +270, +470 tickets in a 1-1 game. Certainly, the Ray could of, perhaps, would have won the game anyways, but in that type of scenario, which tickets would you rather have in your pocket . . . the ones with "pluses" in front of numbers, or the ones with "minuses"?
Similar prices today, I like Beavan much more than Noesi, but I also like Shields more than I like Matt Moore.
It is very, very, very tough, to have 30 consecutive batters step to the plate with a runner(s) at 2nd or 3rd and fail to deliver a hit. Thats what the Mariners have done since Michael Saunders hit a Grand Slam on Friday night. The fact that they even had 30 chances, says the offense is doing some good things over the past 4 games. Jesus Montero out hit the Rays last night. RISP situations are kind of like BABIP situations, some times you just have bad luck. Better offenses are less likely to have that luck, but it's often just a luck when it comes down to hit.
I need to research Shields and Beavan a bit before I pull the trigger. My gut says to go back to well, but research might prove that a Ray RL or Alt RL is the better play.

I'm seeing the M's hitting at a .364 clip against Shields over 105 PAs. Not too many of the Rays have seen Beavan. With Longoria out I think this is a good a chance as any to bet Seattle in this series. +1 /12 RL looks even better but it's -130 at my shop. I may go with the M's 1st 5 +1/2 at +125. I think the M's win straight up though. Probably gonna pony up and gamble on this one!!
All the best--thanks for your great input.

All things equal, I stull like my play, but you just can't predict plays like we saw in the bottom of the 4th . . . in general, the mariners have not played liked that. when they do, it's very tough for them to win. unless, the other team makes a similar type of mistake.
