In his first 3 years with the Angels, I'd agree. But this year he's sequencing differently, his walks are down. And speaking of down, feels like most of his pitches break down. Still getting a tremendous amount of ground balls hit.

Maybe he's turned a corner? The Angels brought in Mike Maddux this year as pitching coach. And he's done a fine job with their entire staff if you ask me.

2 earned over 5.1 innings vs the Jays. 5 k's no walks.

The kid has put together 4 quality games. His roughest outing has been vs Boston, and his only road game so far. Gave up 3 and walked 4 in that one. 

He will be back to walking the bases loaded and giving up sharp contact as the season progresses 

Gavin Williams has entered the conversation. 

Cam Schlitter is still hard to hit, most batters in the league haven't seen much of him. 36 K's, 3 walks.
