Kyle Freeland is working hard to overcome the inept defense behind him. He struck out Matt McLain and then got the dangerous De La Cruz to ground out to end the threat in the top of the 4th.

Freeland’s pitch count is way up there at 73. Andrew Abbott, meanwhile, needed 66 pitches to record just nine outs.
