Jay-I plug the payout amount in manually. Most of my formulas then kick in off whatever that number is. But it sounds like you're onto something. I may have to fool around with a formula that would automate that.

i do the exact opposite, i enter all data on the proper tabs for each sport or team or whatever you are compling. then i build a sheet that compiles all the data in a format that meets my needs and is easy to digest. in reality, the only time i go to the team/sport tabs is to enter data, i use the "compilation" tab to view my data. for me, i find it's much easier to "pull" info from tab to another than it is to "push" in excel. to many "if" formulas inside more "if" formulas to write when you try to "push" data. access probably works better for this stuff, but i've never taken to time to learn it well as i know excel.
