you guys need some sensitivity training. it doesnt matter that it does not effect you. what matters is that it is offensive to a certain race in our mosaic of cultures & we must be respectful to everybody.

I have been an Indians fan all my life and would hate to see the logo changed. There is nothing offensive about it. We squabble over anything that may not be politically correct. What next getting rid of the Fighting Irish, the Florida Seminoles, Someone mentioned the pussification of America. That is what we are becoming.

That sounds wonderful in theory, but in this day & age, there will be someone who will be offended by anything.

Look at some of the craziness going on at colleges/universities. There are students who want "trigger warnings" before reading content that they may find troubling. C'mon now. That's absurd.

Asked to be protected from information or ideology that you disagree with is about as low as it gets.

Ban all references and depictions to human beings and groups of humans, whether offensive or otherwise. End of controversies if and when sensibilities change.

So are you going to ban the black panther logo (as stated in a previous post) that Carolina uses?? First thing I think of when I see that is the Black Panthers organization which is/was extremely prejudiced against white people not to mention the acts of violence that they have carried out against people of the white race.

When you depuct a human being or group of humans, you risk objectifying them, and being bigoted or insensitive: Irish, Vikings, Redskins, Braves, Raiders, and so on. I say limit team names to animals: Ducks, Beavers, Cardinals, Bluejays, Marlins...

@Alan - My point is that to someone somewhere in this oversensitive country we live in almost anything can be construed as be racist or bigoted.

Just because you are from a 'minority' does not make you the only one that may feel slighted by something. To me, the logo of the Black Panther is racist and I know that I am not the only one who feels that way. I am sure that the people who feel that way are a minority but we are still entitled to feel that way just as you have the right to not even think anything about it.

Im tired also of the lawyers , politicians and spokespersons who come in with cameramen and microphones yo denounce any perceived racist motivated bate act. Tired of Rev Al, Rev Jackson, and any other MLK jr wannabees, just being part of a huge political action committee. Its all bullshiet.

Well with the Redskins trademark being cancelled its only a matter of time until Chief Wahoo will have to be removed. Its a racist logo and it needs to change. Its racist and its stupid... thats why its Cleveland's

An Indian is called an Indian and you think thats racist. A rancher in Dallas is called a Cowboy and is that racist. A brewery worker in Milwaukee is called a Brewer is that racist. A steelery worker in Pittsburg is called a Steeler is that racist. Yep, your right, this is how stupid this conversation is. But believe this; have any of you been to a Indian casino? Have any of you seen an Indian playing any of the slots. Of course you havn't and do you know why? Their told not to. These casinos are on Indian reservations and not governed by the states. There set up to rip off the white,black,asians, Italians, and every other ethic group out there. Wake up people! The Indians steal your money and pretend they care about being called an Indian. Now do you really want me or any other sane person to shed a tear because an Indian is called an Indian. Sorry my priorities are best put else where.

OK They strip away the trademark over an amendment that was placed AFTER they granted the trademark. It was grandfathered in btw. Sort of a ex post facto kind of thing. Because it didnt fit into "modern day" America.

If this is the case then I would like them to take another look at the 2nd Amendment, because believe me ,it certainly does not belong in a "modern day" America.

That is an A plus dead bang right post as usual from you JFen. I am standing around 2nd base in life and trust when me I tell you that stuff I went through as a teenager and early twenties and another event just a few years ago, a PC pantywaist would be screaming at the top of their lungs crying. So sick of the "I'm offended" crowded. Everyone has obstacles in life and things they don't like. Some choose to build a life and overcome them and some choose to cry and look for attention.
