They are simply unbelievably who is possibly going to beat them? All I heard was dodgers will smoke them this and that by my west coast friends…… um ya ok lol. Anyways Braves for the 4 game sweep. I will never forget my Dad turning on TBS and letting my brother and me drink soda and eat bacon and eggs lol. Then the Braves would come on and I got to see Maddux, Glavine and Smoltz! Boy how I miss those times and wish I took them more seriously. Just get emotional thinking back on it

I am 56 years old. I've followed the Braves almost daily since around 1978.
I can remember Gene Garber stopping Roses hitting streak at 44. I was in little league and baseball was the most important thing in my life. I recall the night this happened and where I was at very vividly.
I remember the 13-0 start in 1982.
But to answer your question. This is hands down the best lineup to ever be assembled in Atlanta for one season. But they do not come close to matching the pitching. Maddux, Glavine and Smoltz in their prime is the greatest pitching they ever had. So look at this 2 ways. Best offense ever but not close to best pitching.
My favorite all time team. The 91 Braves.

All Braves fans know the pain of October baseball. This is a great team, much stronger than the team that won the WS two years ago. A powerful lineup, every player a legitimate HR threat, Strong starting pitching, a good closer in Iglesias. If the Braves dominate in October, and win the WS, can be mentioned as one of the best WS Champs this century. Anything can and will happen in October.

I am still mad as hell about the Braves losing Gm 7 to the Twins in 1991. Everyone blamed Lonnie Smith, who lost the ball in the lights while running the bases in the eighth, but Ron Gant and Sid Bream did not come through when it mattered most.
