For some reason Toronto Blue Jays are bringing pitcher Bassitt back on only (5) days rest and moving Scherzer to Sunday and Berrios to start at home on Tuesday. I find this unusual and I’m trying to find out the reasoning. Now, Blue Jays do not have a game on Monday.
Scherzer has been following Gausman and then Berrios, which means Scherzer would have pitched today and Berrios would have gone against Yankees on Sunday.
So, why mess with the rotation?
Did Scherzer need an extra days rest or did they not want Berrios to face Yankees in Yankee Stadium?
For what it is worth, I’m thinking Scherzer is gonna pitch well Sunday.

Chris Bassitt starts Saturday and MaxScherzer will go Sunday, said Blue Jays manager John Schneider. Switch was made to give Scherzer an extra day after he had the upper back stiffness last outing.

Why punish Bassitt by bringing him back a day early. Seems like Manager Schneider setting Bassitt up-to-fail. With the roster increases, why not start a call-up or reliever and go with Bassitt on Sunday. By doing this, now Scherzer would get Sunday and Monday off to heal-up his stiff back! This is total BS! I don’t believe it for a minute!
That Scherzer/Fried match-up on Sunday looks more enticing to bettors and viewers.
Sunday…..F5 UNDER and F5 Blow Jays! Sunday!
Saturday means absolutely nada!
