Dodgers vs Jays game 2 live

Kevin Gausman needed only 6 pitches to get rid of the Dodgers in the top of the 6th. Ohtani and Betts both popped out in foul territory.

Maybe Jays finally do something here

I don’t mean to poke a bear with a stick, but Mr. Ohtani is now 10-48 in the playoffs. That’s a paltry .208.

Wasn’t this man being universally heralded as the greatest baseball player of all-time just a week ago? 

1-2-3 go the Blue Jays in the bottom of the 6th. That was a little different than last night’s bottom of the 6th.

For the second time tonight, Freddie Freeman swings at the first pitch and flies out to center. Thank you, Freddie.

Will Smith saving Dodgers. Cmon Gasman 

That damnable Will Smith just crushed a 3-2 pitch to deep left to put the Dodgers ahead 2-1. Gausman had retired 17 Dodgers hitters in a row. Smith had been the last one to reach base against him way back in the 1st inning when he singled in Freeman.

Now Muncy . Gasman has done it again

Kevin Gausman went from hero to zero in a hurry. Max Muncy stepped to the plate with two outs and hit a bomb the opposite way to make it 3-1. Gausman then left the field in disgrace.

Louis Varland came on to retire Ki.ke Hernandez to end the top of the 7th, but I need the Dodgers offense to remain quiet in the 8th and 9th.

Think they will? Yeah, me neither.

1-1 series now!    Heading back to LA 

Dodgers hoist the trophy in a week. 

Oh no, Shohei Ohtani is due up third in the top of the 8th and by now he must be well aware of the observation I made in post #29.

The mighty Blue Jays offense has been completely shut down. A long string of weak outs recorded by Yoshinobu Yamamoto, fourteen to be exact.

Yamamoto’s pitch count was a bit high at the end of three innings, but at the end of seven it’s sitting at only 79. If he keeps this up, the flammable Dodgers bullpen can stay out of this.

Ohtani got me. He ripped a single into right. First and second for the Dodgers with the deadly Mookie Betts getting ready to hurt me as he so often does.

The nervous Varland went to 3 and 2 on Mookie and totally choked on his most important pitch of the night. 

Not even close. A walk for Betts and the bases are loaded for Freddie Freeman. Varland has been removed and will bolt for the clubhouse to immediately use a restroom.

Jeff Hoffman picks up right where Louis Varland left off, by choking hard. Instant wild pitch makes it 4-1.

Will Smith mvp today 

Freeman was intentionally walked to load them up again and then Will Smith hit an easy double play ball to short. But, Andres Gimenez made a sissy underhand toss to second, a mistake that allowed Smith to easily beat the relay to 1st. Another run scored to kill my Dodgers team total and l concede every bet I made on this game.

The lightweight Andres Gimenez will begin the bottom of the 8th and will no doubt become Yamamoto’s 15th consecutive victim.

Strikes out on four pitches. Shocker.

Yamamoto blows away George Springer to record his 7th strikeout and 16th consecutive out. This Game 2 is beyond dunzo.
