No one cares about this record other than Yankees fans. All the Yankee greats he passed either had to serve in the war, died at an age earlier than their career completion, or had severe injuries, or were pitchers and didn't get as many at bats as they should have

And in fairness, although I was rooting like hell for the Yanks tonight for wagering purposes - I am not a Yankees fan.
