Tough break for our two Latin Starters on Easter Sunday.
Johan Santana was his usual dominant self, pitching 7 innings and giving up just three hits and a walk while striking out thirteen Marlins. However Florida scored the only two runs they needed on a error by Leftfielder Daniel Murphy, and following up with an RBI single by Ronny Paulino. That was enough run support for Josh Johnson who pitched a Gem, taking a no-hitter into the sixth inning and capping it off with a five hit complete game win.
Wandy Rodriguez pitched well enough to win going six innings allowing 3 runs on five hits. However his Astros were stymied by the Cardinals Kyle Lohse who pitched a three hit shutout, losing 3-0.
